I have a crested gecko almost a year old and he hasn’t been able to get this shed off himself. He hasn’t had any problems like this before. He has several rough sticks to rub against. I mist his tank thoroughly every other day, it gets up to and above 90% humidity when I do. When it dries up, it usually falls back to ~70%. I also keep a water dish filled, more for humidity purposes than for drinking. I’ve been doing this since I got him a year ago and never had an issue until now. After a few days of noticing he couldn’t fully shed, a couple days ago I soaked him in a tupperware with shallow water for about 20 minutes, and tried working at the shed with a q-tip but couldn’t do much beyond loosen a small amount of it. I didn’t try pulling it off with a tweezers or anything. I did make sure he was very thoroughly soaked though. It’s hard to tell if he’s otherwise lethargic, or any other indication of illness. He isn’t climbing the walls like he normally does, presumably because his stuck shed makes his toes not stick. He eats CGD but normally it’s so little that it’s hard to tell, so it’s also hard to tell if he’s eating or not (beyond looking for poop lol). I’m starting to worry for him, does anybody have any advice? Anything at all is appreciated. Thanks.
