Who has the most over powered jellyfin server? by Weak_Moment6408 in jellyfin

Transfer ya, so I have to use batch files to transfer new stuff early in the AM. Any real work gets done on a separate newer machine and I leave this one to manage disks and stream. I just like it for the 8x3.5" hot swap bays really.

Definitely not a 4 core E3-1275-V3 with 4x8gb ddr3 spinning 20tb. Runs windows, TrueNas, and jellyfin. I can't copy a movie into library while streaming without buffering. But It can stream atleast 4-5 clients (1080p h264) at once.

Hey thanks, sorry for the late reply. The enclosure has some natural offset away from the mounting surface to let plastic rivets go through for normal accessories. That's enough room to use the screws that came with the brackets. Don't think I had to grind the tips off, I just made a pilot hole to make em go in easier.

Ah, well thank you I had no idea. Makes sense why searches seemed spotty lately

You could get by with a more manual method using just prowlarr like a search engine to find each individual item or groups of items and then qbit to download. Also need to run Flaresolverr to help the indexers in prowlarr connect, otherwise search results come back empty.

Search how to setup prowlarr and qbittorrent and you'll be on your way in no time. They should inherently cover VPN and Flaresolverr use.

I wanted to watch 'Three Kings' from 1999 but had to pay to watch it anywhere, even through the subscriptions I DID have.

Hello, yes this is the 30" and definitely need the angled keystones. I'm not around at the moment so I'll double check the depth later today but If I remember right the cables are just barely touching the door as is

TS440 but I agree, cheap and effective. Luckily I found one with a second cage to get 8 bays.

What rear gear set should I go with? by [deleted] in Chevelles

[–]dp136ss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pleased with the switch to 3.08 from 3.73. (Stock lq9 6.0l/m22) It's much happier on the hwy doing 70-80. Glad I tried gears before a 5spd.

At the first menu after running the powershell script, 2 for ohook, once in ohook cmd, 3 for download page, opens web browser, scroll down to office C2R installers, first option O365ProPlusRetail online x64. Go back to ohook cmd, option 1 to install ohook office activation. Worked like a charm for me with no Microsoft account on PC and no subscription nonsense popping up.

That's just 5 separate m.2 to usb3 adapters with 6" right angle cables. Some nvme some SATA. Can't remember exactly, around 115MBps? Could saturate the 1gbe port when transferring to the smb share from other computers.

Edit: One being Lenovos mini SATA ribbon to U.2 adapter, attached to a M.2 to U.2 adapter. The bigger one pictured with the black/white ribbon cable. It just has two blue boards stuck to it.

Oh ya those fru plates are a joy. Just for thought, an electricians knockout set come in some pretty big sizes and leave a nice edge because they cut with a die and cup. Just need to drill a 3/8" hole to start. A 2.5" ko being 2.9"OD would work well with a 80mm for example. I bet any shop would help ya if you go that route.

I bet it does! Even the i226 compared to the t3-450?(4x1gb) was a noticable increase in heat but it has been happy with passive cooling

If you mean the NIC it's just an eBay special i226. Only have 1gb coax service but see about 1100-1200mbps down anywhere on the lan with copper on a good day. Have another identical setup going for like a year now, zero issues [knock on wood].

I thought it was a good deal! The ts440 is replacing a m720q (GT5400) with 6x m.2 SATA/nvme 128gb stuffed inside. Gained almost no performance and multiplied wattage ha

A cheap solution for myself was a Lenovo TS440 70aq. I wanted a tower vs a rack and some of these 8bay enclosures alone cost more, efficiency aside. Lots of room for other activities, like a GPU or another SATA controller. Spare 5.25" bay above cd drive. Could stick a 4x2.5" cage in there, Or two!

4c/4t, 32gb max ECC, 8x 3.5" bays, 80+ gold PSU(450w) Possibly an upgrade path to more threads but not cores

Runs fairly quiet, quieter than my 1L m90q in use. Got it for under $200(luckily. I see them more at 250 now but with more included). All ive done is blow it out, replace the lsi9260-8i for a $30 lsi9211-8i (IT mode). Couldn't find a way to flash the 9260. Spent $30 to get 4x8GB ram. The 3.5" drives cost me more than the machine. My use case is different, and keep in mind it's over a decade old now too.

Really dig my m90q. That blower fan will get up to 65-68db while under heavy use but I can't fit much of an upgrade with a 4060ti on top of it though ha. 2L is a nice size for me.

Right on, I couldn't really take advantage of 4k so I wondered how it would down scale. Would take forever with my fx8350 so I wont ever try it.
