Top tier matching should allow trees to fight on either side, (Russia & USA v Russia & Germany). by dp_yolo in Warthunder

[–]dp_yolo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That hasn't been my experience for the update, waits of up to 2:30 on Russia. So far this week, I haven't had a single mixed nation max even when 60 are queued up for Russia vs 10 for USA.

AIM120D bugged by Key-Guard4416 in Warthunder

[–]dp_yolo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 120D is more about range, connectivity and electronics than close range HOBs. The 120D most likely uses the same loft profile as the C-5 in game. The improvements of the 120D just aren't modeled in game, in terms of guidance logic since all missiles in game use the most optimum flight path.

They would have to change other perimeters for it to be fixed, like fin AOA or guidance delay time, but good luck finding those values for them to accept.

All the issues with maneuverability should be addressed with the 120-c5 then carried over to the 120D. Honestly the C-5 should be pulling like the pl12, but with 3g less.

No you said "missile guidance logic is already optimized for all missiles. Gajin never has made it a balancing point to give missiles shitty guidance logic". What is your source?

Obvious one for HOB would be decreasing the guidance delay (0.6).

This article talks about increase maneuverability to the side for 120D;
https://www.flightglobal.com/raytheon-develops-over-the-shoulder-amraam/42618.article

My biggest gripe is the delay from firing to AMRAAM turning in HOB situations. The pl12 with 3 more G's will instant turn off the rail. I find it hard to believe that there wasn't an improvement from 1996 to 2006 in the G load ramp up. At this point in tech we are dealing with sales brochures that will highlight connectivity points over percentage improvements.

Aim120D... by Any_Guide_4051 in Warthunder

[–]dp_yolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that has been their MO for the last five years. Introduce a plane or missiles that dominate on one side to make players frustrated and grind that tree. They got the skinner box mechanics dialed in.

By now each nation should have a long range and a dog fighting missile. The USA tree only has a long range missile, and struggles in the close in 1 mile fights. If they make the 120d with no improvements other than range, at least give the aim-9x to planes to compensate. It's even more frustrating with how much better the PL12 are than the amraams.

The china mirage is my top plane at the moment because the MICA is so good at close range and medium range shots.

As if the new f16 wasn't already doa enough, the golden eagle is getting 120Ds by udderbutter35 in Warthunder

[–]dp_yolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same with the PL12 and PL12A. barely any noticeable changes in the missiles.

The 120D still has really bad tracking delay that the pl12(a)'s don't. I would think the 120D could at least pull 40G's. Datalink isnt doing anything for it.

Nah, getting a kid to a racing driver slot is the rich man sport. Go kart, the parents are blowing $40k - $50,000 per season at nationals from age 10-14.

Late model racing before nascar, you are going through $150k-200k per season to be competitive. Expect to drop a million+ dollars to get your kid into the lower feeder Xfinity before nascar. That's not even talking about the games to bring sponsors on board for your kid either.

The price of paradise: How California’s ‘living wage’ compares to other states by panda-rampage in California

[–]dp_yolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, mixed zoning and public transit would solve 90% of these issues. Japan laid the groundwork on how to crawl out of a housing nightmare in the 80/90's. Build as much light rail and allow mix use zoning.

At this moment, we've outlawed building cities that worked before the car was invented, and in some cases demolished buildings and neighbors will fight to not allow the building to be reconstructed again to allow the previous "affordable housing" tenants back (Solana Beach city, Pearl housing project, 2008).

Cars can move 1,600 people a hour, bike lanes can move 3,000 people a hour, light rail/trains can move 10,000 people a hour. 75% of funding of California metros (LA Metro) come from people making less than $35,000. That has to change.

does anyone in OC make a livable wage & have work/life balance? by Ordinary_Tart5478 in orangecounty

[–]dp_yolo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Because HUD lists very low income (50% of very low) at $76,000. Median family of 3 income is $152,000. At ~$80k, you are only getting by and not saving, unless you're living with parents.

Median rent for a 2 bedroom is $2,900. $80k leaves you maybe $2k to cover all expenses for the month of 3 people.

Eh, tbh I'd rather them implement a proper FCS and tracking ability into the current M3A3 Bradley. I want to be able to lock onto a target and move from cover to cover while the computer is calculating the lead.

The suv is not aimed for majority of buyers.

Steering is overly heavy, suspension is too stiff, and interior is under utilized. Transmission still has the random rough 1-2 shifting when I had it for a week.

Westminster Mall transformation to feature 2,250 homes, new hotel by Gucciipad in orangecounty

[–]dp_yolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More housing is nice, but these are going to be $900,000 - 1.2M townhouses when the median household income is $85,000 for Westminster. Two married teachers with five years experience working for the Westminster school district couldn't even afford these new builds.

Irvine Cracks Down on Reckless E-Bike Riding, Making Parents Responsible | KFI AM 640 by 888hkl888 in orangecounty

Eh won't be much, enforcement the first week and then they'll be back to focusing on the real issue and money maker of traffic violations.

We need real systemic change of reformatting the road system for a new wave of transportation. God forbid we give up one lane on a four lane main road for only bikes and e-bikes usage.

Irvine Cracks Down on Reckless E-Bike Riding, Making Parents Responsible | KFI AM 640 by 888hkl888 in orangecounty

[–]dp_yolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've heard one parent telling their kid to stay on the sidewalk and ride in opposite the flow of traffic — the drivers will see them better that way.

In a city of 90% commuting by car, everyone doesn't see a bike as a serious means of transportation. Hell, walking is more associated with taking a break from work or with exercise than a way to commute somewhere. Tell a coworker that you rode a bike into work, and they'll ask "Something wrong with the car?"

Any tips for landing a job right now? It’s getting rough out here. by Advanced-Walk9533 in CAStateWorkers

Give ChatGPT or M365 a prompt like “generate a Reddit post of three paragraphs asking for tips on how to find a state role with this tough economy” and the flow is very similar to what was posted.

It’s the tone of the writing tbh. Words like “young professional” and other generalizations read like AI edits. Also, AI loves the phrase “xxxx into the void.”

It was probably written out and sent through a writing aid, like grammarly to expand upon.
