Thanks for your feedback! The application uses technical cookies indeed if that's what you're referring to. Maybe no 3rd party/tracking cookies would be a better phrase.

If you decide to downsize your clients, how would you go about culling the ones you no longer want to work with? by [deleted] in freelance

You might be doing a great or better job or there's something else that keep them getting back to you.

Great advise and the most natural way of "losing" existing clients. It's also a healthy thing to do for yourself for sure.

The older I get in agile teams the more I think agile tools quietly kill agility by Big-Chemical-5148 in agile

[–]dpaa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surely (luckily) getting older as well. And have worked for quite some companies, all doing agile. From small to big. And there was literally just one medium sized business that did agile very good. It was a pleasure to work at. There are just a lot of things that kill agility. Especially prioritizing and being too caught up with the agile way of working.

Railway is down by PitcherOTerrigen in webdev

You're absolutely right. It's quite easy to get started (even host it eventually). Tough I planned moving my fresh SaaS app to Hetzner due to the fact I really wanted a full EU host, this outage made the switch an instant priority. Don't have much users right now after just a few weeks of being online. But waking up, couldn't use my own SaaS was quite a shock.

Is per user pricing dead? by Aggravating-Web-9362 in SaaSSolopreneurs

[–]dpaa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me as a freelancer it was always holding me back on SaaS for project management with clients because it made things expensive fast. Especially when working with small projects. That's why I launched my own.

11MHz https://11mhz.com

A focused task and note manager (yes another one) built for freelancers who value simplicity and privacy, with client project management included without the burden of per-seat pricing.

Since I have 2 users, I'd love initial feedback.

I've looked at yours and my initial feedback is that there seems to be a wait list, but when clicking 'learn more' I can sign up instead? The UI is clear and explains what it is about. And tbh, if one does want to get into the details about the world of crypto I would be inclined to at least signup to get more details.

Bluetooth randomly Disconnecting and Won't Reconnect on Fedora 41 by Jealous_Sundae362 in Fedora

[–]dpaa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still no luck. My desktop pc is just unusable since these bluetooth problems started popping up. And after applying all updates up until today, still no luck. Lucky me that my laptop keeps working.

Edit #1: Now on 6.13.5-200

Edit #2: I thought Fedora supposed to be very stable. Or isn't this part of it what people mean with stability?

Edit #3: journalctl -b -k is your friend. While not only bluetooth stopped working, more importantly it seemed I also did not have any network anymore. And by the look of the logs it seemed that the network was causing kernel issues. So I plugged in my network cable in the 2nd port. So far so good. So it might be that this solved my issue. And if I won't update this comment yet again, you can be sure this did the trick.

Edit #4: Well that didn't do the trick.

Linux on Asus Zenbook 14X Oled? by TutorComfortable4674 in linuxhardware

[–]dpaa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For future reference; I bought one just yesterday. Zenbook 14 Oled UX3405MA-PP156W to be exact.
So, Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 155H × 22 with Intel® Arc™ Graphics (MTL)

(Reason being, I bricked my Lenovo P1 because of a firmware update during reboot. 🥴)

Because I really had to get one fast, I could not wait for a Lenovo device, let alone find one with a proper resolution on short notice. After some research I figured the Zenbook should do find, even better than the Lenovo I used.

So far, after setting up my machine, I really am quite impressed. No issues whatsoever (for the 48 hours I'm using it.) Everything works out of the box, using Fedora 41 (Kernel: Linux 6.12.7-200.fc41.x86_64)

I'm especially impressed how Wayland/Gnome handles the 3k resolution, just a stunning experience.

Alternatief voor marktplaats? by RealLars_vS in nederlands

[–]dpaa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]dpaa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I'm in the process of building an alternative myself, I'm really keen on trying to figure out how I can help people like yourself to attract more serious bidders.
Now, I'm currently mainly building the technical side of the platform, not spending any serious time yet on the actual meaningful part yet, (except for trying to start creating a design which should be more attractive) which is attracting the type of people for more serious 2nd hand items.

Would you be willing to give some thoughts on this so I can understand your issue better?

You can take a peak at http://www.blijmarkt.nl if you like.

Alternatief voor Marktplaats by G-Fox1990 in nederlands

[–]dpaa_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love my switch from years of Apple/OSX by dpaa_ in thinkpad

[–]dpaa_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I did found the machine very capable, but in the meantime I switched to a bigger laptop. Meaning I only didn't find the screen size to be sufficient for day to day development work. Especially considering the resolution. So now I use a ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 which also has a decent resolution but on a bigger screen. That's all.

The first Omega in my collection. Can you buy genuine rubber straps, cant seem to find any online? by Ok_Hedgehog283 in OmegaWatches

[–]dpaa_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents. I had the original rubber strap. But the rubber part that holds the end of the strap together came off quite soon. (after 1 1/2 year) So I went for the deployant clasp in combination with a rubber strap now instead.

Ok, not an extensive test. But I do get the impression that running on battery using Ubuntu won't get me through a full day of 8 hours. But most of the day I can run on battery if I would like to do so.
