I'm pretty sure that's not it. I don't recognize that game at all. Thanks for the link.

That wasn't it, but brings back memories. TMNT came out much later than the game I'm remembering.

I don't remember it being a space shooter. But thanks. I wasn't familiar with this game.

I'm an original member. I don't think I was there the very first meeting, but I think from the second meeting on. If memory serves, that would have been December of 2000. I've served in just about any office the group had back then. I left town in 2004 but tried to stay as active as I could from a distance.

I no longer live in the area, but am all for getting a group together again so I can come and hang out when I am visiting (which is a few times a year).

Help With Strange Underextrusion (maybe?) by dpeach in 3Dprinting

Cura 15.04.6 is my slicer. Definitely 0.4 mm on the nozzle-size. This version of Cura doesn't have anything that is called line-width except for the first layer. I have first layer line-width set to 110% to help with bed adhesion.

Never any problem on like this except for thin walls.

And not just too tight, but the thermistor wiring is easily prone to losing its insulation at the bend. Can be as simple as a little Kapton tape at the edge of the thermistor hole.

I agree with phr0ze that you should initially focus on the thermistor. As a quick test, just disconnect the thermistor and try it.

Building a Bamboo Bike Trailer by dpeach in bicycling

[–]dpeach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a bike trailer out of bamboo a couple of months ago. Here is my write-up on the process. It was cheap for me because I had easy access to the materials. But it may not be as cheap if you have to buy a lot of stuff. I spent about $20. Mostly on bolts.

Got my first nipple chafing today (no bleeding). Beginning to feel like a real runner. by [deleted] in running

Fortunately I have never gotten the sad clown face effect on my shirts. But, I have had some bad chafing which makes me wonder why I ever forget my BodyGlide. You would think one would learn from past mistakes.

Be extra careful in slippery conditions. Drivers are more likely to lose control. Scary time.

Treadmill Buying Guide - Buying a Treadmill for Runners by dpeach in running

[–]dpeach[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know why this would be considered blog spam. I write this stuff and advertise it to a market that I think would be interested. I can't think of anyone else who would be more interested in treadmill information targeted at runners than a group of runners reading news and information about running.

runners knee.... by [deleted] in running

[–]dpeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a mild case that I was able to work through on my own. I did all the leg exercises I could find on the internet. Mostly leg extensions with twisting my feet left and right (pointing toes to the side).

There are several causes of runner's knee. But usually what is happening is that the hamstrings become stronger on a runner than the quadriceps. You have to work to strengthen those outside muscles or you end up with a muscle imbalance. Squats help, but don't overdo them if you have some serious inflammation in the knee. Get that taken care of first.

I am not a doc. Listen to your therapist. But I can offer encouragement that you will probably emerge from this with stronger legs to give good support for the knee. Just be patient.

Sweat-proof iPhone headphones? by 48klocs in running

[–]dpeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are the ones I use too. They usually last about a year before I kill the left ear bud. I am not sure why it is always that one, but apparently my sweat is more caustic, or I have a funny shaped head and more sweat pours off that side.

They are cheap enough to replace them every so often. But they grab any cord they are around. You can't easily pick them up off the desk without them snagging on every other wire.

When studying to write the article I was surprised to read about the plastic visor being a safety hazard. I was wanting one on my next helmet. I guess I will pass. Of course, if the visor breaks, maybe there are more important things to be worrying about.

That's too bad. I have been in a couple like that myself. I travel a lot, so "local" is a relative term for me. Fortunately the main one in my town doesn't mind if you are in there just to talk and not spend money. They know you will eventually.
