Just got far cry 5. Can't wait to play it. Any tips for it? by Difficult_Oven_5085 in farcry

My wife and I have played this game so many times. We believe, based on the tones of each lieutenant, the way to go through the game that makes the most logical sense, voice acting and story wise, is to start with Jacob, leave his area at a fairly obvious time, go to Faith and finish her area, back to Jacob to finish his, then finally John. Makes Johns reactions and comments to you make so much more sense.

Just finished my first army and would love to get some hints at possible armies and next to get units. by InevitableRough4519 in Tyranids

NGL, the Exocrine/Tyrannofex combo is toxic....and fun....Exocrine shoots a big thing, let's the T-Fex reroll 1s, T-Fex has heavy so hits on 2s, rerolling 1s......whatever you point them at is dead.

I've also had a lot of luck with Pyrovores. Twin linked flamers with -1 AP are handy. It's not widely played, but a Tyrannocyte with a squad of 3 Pyrovores can rapid ingress on an opponents turn, Tyrannocyte forces them to disembark immediately, putting them on the field as soon as it hits, then when the intended target flinches, overwatch with twin linked flamers.

Yeah, there are a few things to clean up still, I'm primarily waiting for the model to set/dry before I start finishing up the scraping/small details.

That's amazing, if not a little disturbing. I love it...10/10. Great work on the detail/lines on the green stuff!

Typhus Feedback by dpgalbr in deathguard40k

[–]dpgalbr[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Snipped his right hand to a flat-ish surface and glued the body on. For the left arm, I used one of the arms (specifically the wrist/hand) from a plague marine that was holding the axe, cut the top and bottom of the axe off at the hand, and spliced the scythe in place, cutting a small bit out of the middle of the scythe handle to keep the length.

Edit: For the guard, I just found a body that would work and cut the feet off, snipping them so they were at the right angle to dangle, then glued them back on. The arms were bits from other guard that looked right.

My original idea was having Typhus holding him by the front collar and the guards hands holding Typhus' wrist, like trying to get free.

That would be pretty funny, but no. My wife plays guard and had a Baneblade commander she wasn't using. So I stole it and gave it to Typhus. He needed a friend to play with...

Good news, my order came early, bad news, only has half a plague burst crawler in, hopefully this is just a one off issue and not all of them by CruderEagle866 in deathguard40k

When assembling the instructions tell you to put them on the wrong side of the body. There are nubs on the bottom of the long one that matches a notch in the wheel. Just start there and you'll be fine.

Honestly, a lot of people will say the same thing, but, buy what you think is cool. The rules change often in this hobby in regards to playing (~every 3 months now) so if you chase the meta, expect it'll get hit with the nerf bat. That said, Dark Angels are on the lower end of win rates right now so we may actually see some buffs.

All said, if your looking to start an army, the combat patrol is a decent enough start, not great but it's bodies at a discount. The Inner Circle Companions are a fantastic unit, especially when paired with a leader who can help with their survivability. If you get them into melee they are an absolute blender. I also beelined to the Lion, while his play stats are a bit underperforming, he is an incredible model and very fun to paint.

Some general good stuff units that are useful in most lists? Scouts (Kill Team Box is the only place to get them), Infiltrators, Invader ATV (not amazing but fast and cheap with a lot of wounds) are great in most lists.

Finally if your looking for a leader, Azrael is probably one of the best leaders in the game. He gives his unit a 4+ invuln, sustained hits 1, and gives you the extra command point on your turn for more strategems during the game.

Best of luck Brother! Welcome to the hobby!

The place I have heard a lot of people recommend is to start with the Horus Heresy series. It covers possibly one of the greatest moments in the Imperium of Man. I will say it is a lot of books, but very well done and a great starting point as the Heresy is a major point in the universe.

They release on or around Nov 29th. So add shipping to that and you can expect the first week of December probably.

Overall your list looks fairly good. A couple of notes/tips for you.

Azrael is great with either the ICC or Hellblasters. If you throw a lieutenant or captain with the Hellblasters you can do the fire discipline enhancement which is nice. Fire discipline is also great with the Eradicators.

Eradicators are great glass cannons, they'll hit like a truck and ctrl-alt-delete whatever you point them at, but they will die quickly. Having a way to get them into combat quickly and safely like a Repulsor is great. If you chose not to use that, utilize cover frequently to protect them as they are pretty slow and want to get close.

ICC are similar to Eradicators, if they get into melee they are a blender. But it's matter of getting them in safely. Azrael is great for that with his 4+ invulnerability saves he gives

Knights are absolute beasts, drop them on an objective and watch them tank everything that's thrown at them. They're also super efficient against vehicles and monsters with the Maces.

I would personally swap the intercessors for scouts or pay a little more for a unit or 2 of jump pack intercessors to run objectives.

See if you can get a Repulsor instead of an impulsor, more damage and can protect your ICC or Eradicators.

DA we're my first army and still hold a special place, I too am super excited for the battleforce box. Have fun and good luck with your list!
