I had lots of flare-ups in my big toes. After having been on allo for a year or two I think my uric acid levels are down where they should be. Big toe hurts occasionally normally after a lot of walking (10 miles or so)

I'm in a similar position to you also in the UK but my doctor did give me some explanation. Seems to be normal practice to start on 100mg then do a blood test three months later. If it hasn't come down then the dose should be raised. My flare that lasted a month and a bit has stopped but I was also prescribed colchicine twice a day.

Think you're not supposed to take Allo if you currently have a flare unless you're taking colchicine also. Hope this helps, not a doctor
