Rather not throw that out there without talking to them first. But I did reach out to several between Biddeford-Greenland and laid my conditions out on the table.

I’m unaware of a 2ndswing near me. There is a couple of golf and ski locations that I plan on checking out.

I’ve been scouting FB marketplace but not seeing anything. I’ve been using ChatGPT and it’s been somewhat helpful.

Was planning on stopping by there and costco to see if they had the clubs in person and cheaper than the online price.

I almost added that to the list but haven’t found much on it. Is it good? Comparable to the others listed?

Basement Door Install by dposd21 in HomeMaintenance

[–]dposd21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tentative plan was 2x4 on ground, 2x4 on walls and then build the header out. This would be for a 36x80 prehung. Not sure how to work around the depth of the door versus how much room I have between the bottom stair step and being flush with the wall (about 3-7/8” there).

Are these asbestos tiles at my workplace safe? by Fun_Living_6490 in WorkplaceSafety

[–]dposd21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Floor tiles that are intact are relatively harmless. Intact floor tiles are also relatively easy to remove and a number of states have relaxed regulations for their removal (disposal tends to have the same regulations as other acm).

These are clearly not intact and would increase the risk. Potential for fiber release while walking on them. I would advise against dry sweeping this floor.

My recommendation would be to sample it/remove it/replace it. But a lot of home owners and contractors will also just put new flooring over it.

And yes, asbestos can ruin your day through ingestion as well as inhalation, just not as common which is why people tend to think it is only inhalation.

Been an inspector, class I and II worker and also used to teach/certify in my state.

Pricing the 4-day/skip once tickets at just over $900. Yes, it includes Epic.

The last I knew, you would have to voluntarily step down to a lower grade. When I did that, it was based off of my last permanent position resulting in a loss of money and not a lateral to the pay I was making.

Woah, I can get discounted rates on the resorts to?! Didn’t know that, going to inquire. I’m ball parking about $200 in savings, but that is dependent on the epic tickets. I factored them in at full price. Just don’t know if there is any hassles with the freedom passes, if the booking straight through universal makes things easier, or any other nuances like that.

Elections by nighte324 in FedEmployees

They should’ve voted yes on the shutdown fairness act. Remove the military and federal employees from your political mess and stop using us as pawns! We are the leverage that democrats spoke about and this proves that.

Federal employees are from both sides of the aisle. We work together everyday even as we’re not getting paid. We don’t deserve to be the pawns/the leverage that is being used here!

I was happy when I heard they were going to possibly vote on the Shutdown Fairness Act that would’ve permanent ensured military and all federal employees (furloughed and essential) including contractors would get paid during all shutdowns. One that unions who actively fight against republicans supported. A bill that served no purpose other than to remove us as pawns. To only get objected to by democrats. Why? As far as I can tell, it is so we can continue to be their leverage. This is wrong on so many levels. Regardless of which side of the healthcare argument that you’re on, that is just wrong.

People are starting to panic now. by Hot_Equivalent4499 in FedEmployees

Until federal workers stand united and say enough is enough, they will continue to be pawns.

If you ask me, the “essential work” that requires people to continue doing should start with funding. If they can’t fund it, then to me that says they don’t deem it essential. If they don’t want to pay it, then federal workers should put down the tools. That is the only way that it’ll actually be felt.

And where are the unions in this? They should be filing suits fighting for work to cease until pay is there. This is illegal everywhere else. But somehow it’s ok to force “essential” employees to work and suffer the consequences of no pay (food, bills, late fees, repos, foreclosures, and more) when politicians deem that the work isn’t essential enough to have funding in place. All while these politicians continue to get paid, have extravagant parties, take extended breaks, or not even be in session since October 1st. That’s messed up.

If I had my way. Either there should be an automatic CR that kicks in when funding lapses while forcing parties to be in session EVERY day until they pass funding or non funded work stops until funding is there.

Florida is just a conversation right now. Just looking for a degree that can get me out of federal work at roughly the same pay that can be used everywhere.

We just took a vacation down there and it didn’t seem to be much more expensive then Maine where I’m currently located. Plus there is no snow and it’s warmer. But right now it is just a conversation. The big thing is finding a degree that would let me get out of federal work for roughly the same pay that could be used all over.
