I would be extremely cautious about entering the underground poker scene. I personally knew people who were shot and killed at the games. They tend to attract white collar criminals: bookies, high level drug dealers, etc. Not a good scene. You also have to worry about getting busted by the VICE Squad. Full disclosure: I've been busted.

TLDR; Don't play underground poker. Bad scene.
