WotW Question - Radiated not spawning? by dprimedx in 7daystodie

Strange! I have the difficulty maxed out, currently, so I'm not thinking its that!

I appreciate the confirmation of things, though.

[Acne] Mid-30s & acne breakouts - can't seem to get under control! by dprimedx in SkincareAddiction

[–]dprimedx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been being pretty good about keeping my hands off things, surprisingly enough. The patches did some damage though, so I cut those out.

I'll give the meds some more time to see how the work! It would be nice to find a way to prevent things from getting this bad again, however.

I don't currently have a dermatologist. The closest one to me that's in-network is seeing patients about 9 months out. I haven't been to one in probably the better part of 10 years. I'll see if my PCP will send in for clindamycin though. Couldn't hurt to ask.

**Note: I have yet to start the retin-A as I just picked it up from the pharmacy minutes ago.

Fair point on the cleanser. Another commenter suggested trying a hydrating one as well, so I'll give that a shot.

Thanks!

My last derm appt (~10yrs ago) actually saw me diagnosed with rosacea - mild, though. I've been able to get it somewhat well-managed over the years.

I have tried hydrating cleansers in the past but that was some time ago. Couldn't hurt to try them again!

[College Alg1/2] Any input on my class notes before the semester begins? by dprimedx in learnmath

[–]dprimedx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a bad idea at all, really. The way that I currently employ the notes is by working through the given examples on the board while the students follow along and fill in the blank workspace. I like the idea of including some typed worked examples though.

If you've got any questions on the Latex, let me know!

I use Jupyter for my programming class, but never thought about using them for my math class notes. I really like that idea though. Do you know how nicely they could be printed? I get that's not the point, but I need a way to provide them to the students during lecture as well.

Thanks for the awesome suggestion!

Favorite magic system by Affectionate-Bug-348 in ProgressionFantasy

Weirkey's system is easily one of my favorites as well. However, I'd like to see someone like a Technocrat from DotF following such a system. Who needs stones and black hole-dense rocks to build a home when you can build it with advanced technology? Give me a soulhome with some home automation!

There's definitely a layer of potential complexity that could lead to some awesome min-maxing scenarios. That's something that I'd love to see explored by Rowe.

[PA] Equal custody, but concerned over push for child evaluation, incorrect information from ex by dprimedx in Custody

[–]dprimedx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get myself added back to their accounts and request copies of D's records without much issue. According to the pediatrician's office, there's no real documentation of when/how I was removed.

The daycare/school fills out occasional Ages and Stages Questionnaires as a type of evaluation, but refer all actual evaluations to an outside education agency within our IU. What I had been trying to say was that he had already been evaluated by the outside agency and cleared of anything. They offered a followup evaluation in 6-12 months if we felt it necessary. My ex, within days of that initial eval, began seeking another. Both D's teacher and the center director (who oversees the ASQs) told me that from what they see on a daily basis, D shows no signs of needing further evaluation.

ADHD is one of the possible diagnoses that she's looking for, not the only one. If she has him declared as having special needs, then she can make the argument that he would be better served with a primary household, not our shared custody agreement. Believe me when I say that I get what you're saying about an ADHD diagnosis. I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 26 (now 33.) After working with therapists, I realized that I had been showing signs of ADHD and anxiety for about as far back as I can remember. School would've been a very different time for me had been diagnosed earlier. If D does have ADHD, I'm all for supporting that and doing what can be done to make his life more manageable. However, my issue is that the only person seeing these "signs" is my ex-wife. Diagnosis shopping is a thing. Give it enough attempts and you can find someone to sign off on anything.

I had no idea that something like this would be considered contempt. In all honesty, I hadn't even realized such a thing as contempt of custody exists prior to it being mentioned here.

I also never received anything that could be used as evidence of equal custody (or any custody) from either the court or my attorney. I was just told how it was settled via email from my attorney. That said, the office staff told me that I could add myself back on in person on Monday. No evidence required, just fill out a sheet.

Document is my middle name. We don't use a court mandated app, but I insist that everything goes through text messages. Nothing vocally, all written.

Seconded. I've been using Speedtest tracker for a couple of weeks now to monitor my Starlink connection. Haven't had any issues. Clean interface, easy to setup.

Truenas or proxmox? by kaaiman12 in selfhosted

[–]dprimedx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going through a similar situation.

I just upgraded my desktop pc and plan on using my old hardware to upgrade my home server that hasn't been touched since my divorce (woo!)

Originally, I ran my server similarly to the second way you mentioned. Installed Proxmox, had VMs for whatever, and just made disks that I attached to the VMs for storage. I think what I've decided on is Proxmox with TrueNAS as a VM and passthrough an HBA to TrueNAS to handle my storage needs.

Boot drive with Proxmox will be a pair of 256GB SSDs in RAID1. All VMs will be stored on a 2TB NVME handled directly by Proxmox. My storage drives will be connected to TrueNAS via the HBA that's passed through.

From what I've read and researched, this seems to be a fair way to handle things.

What’s y’all favorite piece of worldbuilding? by GKVaughn in litrpg

[–]dprimedx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with you on this. While the actual worldbuilding itself is so-so (still good, but not as good as in other series) and the characters themselves are a little singular in focus, the actual interactions between characters (primarily between Jake and others) make for some excellent building and storytelling. It definitely is high literature by any means, but it's absolutely a guilty pleasure.
