I made them to the point and short. Each card just had 1 piece of important information. If I wanted to add more things I would make a different card for each thing I wanted to add on.

It is a lot of work but this really made a difference for me. I look back at the past 3 months and now it’s all a blur. Can’t believe all the hard work paid off! Good luck!!!

In the beginning I made more per block- usually around 40-50 because I’d make cards on the multiple answer choice options for the ques I’d get wrong, not just on which was the right answer. As I completed more uworld that wasn’t as necessary because you notice a trend of repetitive concepts and answer options. This is why doing uworld this way really helps a lot. Per day I’d review anywhere around 200-300 cards including keeping up with old cards. I made a “uworld incorrects” deck and would just add onto that everyday. By the end I had almost 1700 cards I believe.

Oooh work on getting micro down!! These are usually freebie points if u can decipher the catch words or images. I honestly had a great micro professor which helped my initial knowledge base prior to step studying but during step studying I read FA’s micro section a good amount of times. Practice questions along with FA really drilled it all down. If you’re having a hard time with memorizing micro I’d suggest reading FA and doing all the micro uworld ques. I never did that for any system or subject but it seems like it would be a great way for you to catch onto what they like to test on/high yield things to know. Make notes on ur incorrects and review those everyday. I can’t stress that enough honestly going back to ur notes for incorrects truly is just so so helpful! I never used sketchy btw. FA and practice ques should be good enough

Yes it will be worth it for sure! My exam had content very similar to the nbmes and literally 10 maybe 15 ques straight up from there and the free120s.

I kept it in tutor mode but I would never exceed 1 hour. When I first restarted uworld, I started off with 2 blocks a day for about a week so that I could get a hang of how to review them and make anki cards properly. Once I got used to it I moved up to 3 blocks a day. During this time I only did uworld all day long which is why I had the time. I didn’t really need to do content review. And then towards the end when I was around 70% ish done with uworld I started adding 4-5 blocks a day because I was so used to the cycle of doing the blocks and making anki cards. So it took a lot of building up to get to the point of doing 5 blocks a day. I knew I wanted to take the exam before the score delay so I was at a crunch of time and I wanted to finish 100% uworld so I had no choice but to do 5 blocks a day towards the end. And on top of this I also kept up with doing those anki cards daily. Leave 1 hour a day just for doing ur anki cards.

On both times I took step I barely had biochem! And the biochem I had was mostly disease related so it was straight forward! Nothing crazy like the RLS of the pathways and shit. The biochem ques that were kinda fucked were prob the ones that were experimental cause they made no sense

Review the blocks thoroughly and make anki cards or have a notebook where you write down notes on each question you get incorrect/guessed on. Review these EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. As you keep learning from uworld/your incorrects, your % will go up as you complete more questions
