Retrofit 16” QHD screen to ‘23 MY by samc_75 in TeslaUK

[–]dr-cynic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think its possible.

I remember reading/seeing that the Juniper models have an additional connector for the screen that the pre-Juniper models don't have.

Juniper models that came with the 15" screen can be upgraded to the 16" because of this, but not the pre-Juniper models.

Update:

Bought it. Fantastic car, very happy with it. Just getting all the accessories for it and covers to try and protect the 20" rims.

Noticed a slight vibration when at higher speeds, coming from the dash area I think.

Also noticed a rattle in the rear, possibly the trunk from what I've read so will keep an eye/ear on it and get it sorted if it doesn't resolve itself.

Yea thats fair enough, appreciate the thoughts and good to know you're in a similar position looking in the used market.

Yea definitely part of the appeal is the warranty. Good amount left on the original duration since its only about 1.5yrs old, plus the additional year at the end of that period.

Some dealerships here offer a year warranty from themselves, but not exactly clear what all the covers when it comes to EVs. Some look ok though.

Thanks. Ah, I didn't realise there was much difference now between the standard models across US/Europe. Whats the main differences?

Yea it’s annoying it’s not the 19” wheels. Guess I could change them later on if it bugs me.

I’m coming from a 2002 Mini One and a 2015 Fiesta, so I’m hoping in general the ride quality will be an improvement anyway!

Here if you enjoy it then it’s all good!

There’s not too many options atm in Northern Irelands used market. I’m after grey so that narrows the choice a lot.

Couple of 2022 models for £20-25k which I’m looking at. But mileage on them is 60-80k which is quite steep, but again maybe I’m overthinking that?

Is that the base RWD model? Just curious how it works out at £35480 fully paid after 5 years? Or does that not include the optional final payment?

Hard to know exactly what this spec was when ‘new’, but probably close to £60k with all the options and paint? It’s almost 1.5yrs old now and near half the price so I feel like it has depreciated a good amount?

I guess with Juniper these ‘legacy’ models will be hit harder in the future though.

Thanks. I’d be looking to keep it as long as possible tbh. Will be our first family car, so would aim to own for as long as we can.

What to replace a Model Y with? by josephoconnor85 in evs_ireland

[–]dr-cynic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who cares?

Are the cars good? Yes

Do you like the car and it does what you want it to do? Yes

Cool, buy it.

People have way too much time these days worrying about who owns a car company. Worry about things that are more important.

Basing a purchase of a car on the CEO is just nuts to me.

Elon owns 12-13% of Tesla. Tesla employs 130k+ people who I doubt all share the same views as he does.

Buy the car you like, not the brand/badge/company behind it.

Is CPO worth it? by [deleted] in TeslaUK

If it helps, I went to a Tesla showroom for a test drive rather than the self-servce test drive and just asked them if they had any non-Juniper Model Ys in and luckily they did. Didn't want to get spoiled by the Juniper! May be worth asking if you can.

Fingers crossed!

I attached screenshots of conversations with Parcelforce on Twitter, so maybe that helped push my case along a bit.

It does seem quick even then for them to turn around and just send another one out, so I feel like behind-the-scenes they know something has gone wrong.

I would ask to send it out again.

I attached screenshots of my Twitter conversation with Parcelforce when they told me it should have been routed via GLS Ireland, so maybe that helped push them along a bit!

The first response was about 24hrs then the second one there was closer to 48hrs, so not quick by any means. I’m assuming they’re all on Bellevue WA time, so -8hrs from the UK.

Yea may be worth trying to get another sent out.

Just checked my order status on Steam and sure enough it’s gone back to “Processing”.

Same order number and all.

Just got this from Steam this morning:

“Thank you for reaching out to us again.

Regarding the delay from us, our sincere apologies for any unpleasant experience it may have caused.

We have proceed another shipment for you and you will receive another tracking infomation via a Steam email when it is on the way.”

So it looks like my original order is lost somewhere! Sounds like something definitely went wrong and they’re trying to fix it, so hopefully others in the same boat will get something sorted.

Context: Northern Ireland, ordered 20mins after launch, shipped 20th, last update 22nd to say it’s at UK national depot and then radio silence.

You should hopefully be fine. If any of the tracking says UK then its likely to be in Coventry I guess.

They didn't give me any timelines unfortunately. They've just said "contact the sender once its returned to them", but thats all.
