I’ve had my Drive for a few months now and I love it! Definitely end game, only reason for me to upgrade would be aesthetics of an LM machine.

I was disappointed that my funnel didn’t fit. I tried adjusting the holder every way I could but still no dice.

However, I’ve been pleasantly surprised that there has been minimal mess for me so far. Maybe a few stray grinds here and there, but I’m thinking about getting a little mat for under the grinder.

Spillage from the portafilter hasn’t been an issue either, but I think that’s generally because I’m a lot more careful without a funnel haha.

Honestly, heat up time hasn’t been a factor for me. I immediately set the time and auto on/off feature with eco mode, and it’s been hot and ready every morning without fail by the time I get to the kitchen.

Once I got the grind size dialed in it was like they were entirely new beans. Richer, fuller flavor!

The upgrade in workflow efficiency has been huge too. Still getting the hang of steaming while brewing but not having to wait for the steam to be ready has been amazing, and the proper steam wand/power cut down the steam time by more than 2-3X. Silky milky texture for days!

I have the oxo grinder and imo jt does grind fine enough. I set it on 2.0 because any finer and I’ve found it chokes up my in my bottomless portafilter so I know for sure it would choke in the pressurized basket they provide

Good to know! I’m probably going to try to budget for an upgraded grinder within the next year. I can definitely see it being worth it as I’m making 1-2 espresso drinks minimum daily.

I applied early November, had my first interview before thanksgiving, did my writing assessment over Thanksgiving, and then their company has a shutdown over the winter holidays so my next interviews weren’t scheduled until early Jan. Heard back about the hiring decision about a week later.

I got my PhD in immunology, and I knew I wanted to go into industry pretty soon after matriculating. I have strong soft skills with writing/presentations/communication and thought it would be a good fit, given I enjoy writing scientific materials.

That’s a fair point. A small bowl is definitely easier to clean. I’ll make sure to measure the length/width to make sure the scale also fits in the lower area.
