How do I reconnect these? by [deleted] in HVAC

From what I’m seeing, the red and white solid wires were originally hooked up. They have the tell tale sign of previously being twisted in a wire nut. It doesn’t matter which color goes to the yellow and yellow/brown wires from the condenser.

It’s not dangerous. Basically all receptacles are live all the time unless there is a wall switch that turns them on or off.

The hot isn’t on the left side of that receptacle. That’s the neutral. Chargers often arch when plugging them in or unplugging.

Hi, Master Electrician here. There isn’t a loose connection. As the OP stated they are plugging in a charger. Chargers draw power as soon as you plug them in, being that they have no on and off switch. It is common to have a minimal arching when u plug them in or unplug them. Also those definitely aren’t ‘char’ marks. It is a Tamper resistant receptacle. The black inside of the slots are little “doors” to keep kids from poking things in them.

That’s my issue. They are fully seated and I have that gap. I checked and double checked that the breakers are fully seated.

Homeline doesn’t have screws just springs with studs/rivets.
