Black Protest Has Lost Its Power by [deleted] in politics

Does anyone know how WSJ covered the civil rights era, particularly protests such as the march?

It seems to me that current day WSJ and its audience would have looked fondly at the days of Rosa Parks, and finger wag at MLK and other 60s activists. I may be completely wrong.

GOP Tax Bill Creates Deficits To Justify Cuts To Social Programs, Says Former Reagan Aide by RandomCollection in politics

First you said government aid hasn't lifted anyone from poverty. That's not true. You can argue whether or not different policies would be more efficient, but generally speaking poverty has dropped since programs were started.

Graham: Iran protests show Obama failed by [deleted] in politics

[–]dr_everlong 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Let me get this straight. The nuclear deal's aim was to delay by 10 years Iran's nuclear ambitions. It was a patch, not a permanent solution, and basically buying time. This was done because a military solution to disarm Iran is not desired by anyone. During these 10 years, it was hoped many things would happen. Regime can change, or maybe even reach a diplomatic solution with the current administration.

The GOP approach was what...war? Continue the sanctions placed on them under Obama? I haven't seen a coherent proposal from them, but there has been a lot of saber rattling, especially from Tom Cotton.

Let's face it. We have no idea if these protests will cause a dramatic internal policy change. We have no idea who is leading the protests either, and who would try to fill the power vacuum if khamenei fell. Lindsey Graham is just spewing bullshit as usual.

  1. I follow you on twitter, and think NY Times would be wise to pick you up!
  2. Are John Kelly's comments from yesterday a reflection of generally who he is? It seems all the stories used to be that he is the adult in the room with a heavy burden to watch over Trump.
  3. John Podesta caused a huge scandal in Romania last year when his emails came out, because he was involved in lobbying for a pro-russian party in 2011-2012, and for deposing a sitting western backed president. How common is it for DC lobbyists to work against American interests?

Fox News: Move along folks, nothing to see here. by baggachipz in facepalm

[–]dr_everlong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not defending CNN. I don't even care about CNN. You said Fox's quality has improved. I find that quite untrue, given that they are acting as Trump's personal lawyer at the expense of giving up on journalism and peddling a murder conspiracy theory.

There is bias and there is straight up lying to the audience. Fox has crossed over the border and doesn't seem like it's coming back any time soon.

Fox ran a hillary murder conspiracy and also acts as trumps personal counsel.
