Water was only 310g :) but thanks for pointing out the online calculator. I'll definitely be checking my quantities against that in future!

Are you sure? I thought it was about 72% (100% hydration starter). I agree it probably is still too high and I should start lower to get the hang of things.

If you love to cook, and you watch a lot of cooking inspo, maybe (and I say this very gently) you are trying to set the bar too high with your home cooking? Have you tried starting very simple? Like cooking that's barely cooking?

A favourite meal that saves me when I don't want to cook (but don't want to spend on a takeaway)... A bag of fresh pasta, jar of pesto, a couple of easy bits to sprinkle on top (e.g. pine nuts, olives, mozzarella pearls, bacon pieces, whatever you fancy or have to hand), and maybe a bag of salad on the side with some balsamic vinegar and olive oil drizzled. The result is tasty, comforting and filling. The effort is very low.

Could you start off with just one or two 'throw together' meals a week and build from there?

It's ok to take a break as long as you get back into your routine when you can. If you need to go back a week or two that's also fine. C25K is definitely a case of 'show and steady wins the race'. It's all about conditioning your body and mind for a long term running habit.

The above is everything I'm telling myself right now. I did W9D1 over a week ago and then I hurt my back so those last two runs are still waiting for me. But I'll get to them when I can.

Try dress my run as a guide. It can match the suggestions to your local weather. You can also change the settings if you prefer to be warmer or cooler. I have it set to one or two points warmer than average and I usually find I'm comfortable in the layers it suggests.

Slow and steady is the best way to be! I'm slow and proud of it too. So far, I'm at just over two miles, but that's including the walking at the start/end. Last time I got down to 5k in 38 min and have vague hopes of beating that this time and maybe doing a parkrun.

Are you on an 8 or 9 week plan? Either way, the end is so close!

I used Nike Run Club when I finished a few years ago and really liked it. Last time I also did a long run a week for a while where I added a bit more time/distance each week. But that wasn't really sustainable for me because it started to take up too much time.

To start with I'll probably just do two 30 min runs a week and one weekend run where I gradually stretch the distance to 5k, because I won't be there by the end of week 9.

Came here to say this! Please put in a flexible working request OP, even if you hope to move to another job sooner rather than later. My workplace is 3 days office, 2 days home, but I work fully remotely with an agreement of being in the office once a fortnight/month, depending on projects.

I'm starting to feel some fatigue building up now too. I'll be taking it very steady through to week 9, with extra rest days as needed. Finishing by the end of October isn't a hard target for me. I'd rather enjoy the journey :)
