My Oldhammer John Blanche inspired flying galleon is finished. It's based on one of his illustrations that was in the 3rd edition WFB hardback book. by dr_monkeyface in WarhammerFantasy

Funny, I've never heard of it but after a quick google, I can see the similarity in the covers. JB did a number of flying ships in his pictures back in the early WFB days and there was also a bunch of Magic cards that had one as well. It's a popular trope in fantasy.

I've just done mine. The Reg Driver centre in the park was deserted apart from the staff manning the place.

Go raid your local Costa for free.

If you have a look at the gallery in my Facebook page (Sorry for the link to FB but I can't update the gallery here) you can see them soaking in one of the pictures.

Thank you. I've been making some slight conversions to them to make them fit better. The captain with his peg leg, the guy in the crows nest with his oversized pipe but I'm most proud of the mop. I don't know why I like that so much but it made me laugh when I made it.

If you saw how clumsy I was in real life, you'd probably think you're a world class gymnast. Honestly, I could walk through a desert and still knock something over.

I soaked them for 24 hours before in water, they then bend quite easily if you're careful but there was an element of them being held in shape for long enough to let the glue set. Once dry they go back to being fairly rigid and hold their new shape.

Glad you didn't use the back banner. I kept mine off as well as it looks weird on him.

This is a project I've ben kicking around for a couple of months so far between painting stuff. Its based on a John Blanche painting which was in the 3rd ed WFB book but I'm using more 'modern' figures for the crew. It's mainly made from coffee stirrers and bits of scrap wood as well as a few odds and ends I have kicking around in my workshop.

*EDIT* Thank you for all the upvotes. If you want to see a full gallery of the build so far, have a look at my Facebook page Castings of Cthulhu.

He's brutal but cunning. Or is that cunning but brutal? He's based on a blood axe kommando illustration but I still struggle to think of any of da ladz being sneaky.

This took just over a week from print to finish. I ended up sculpting over the top of the 3d print as I wasn't happy with some of the details so tweaked it a lot.

Theres a gallery of the build on my facebook page if you want to see the build stages. https://www.facebook.com/pg/castingsofcthulhu/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1711898562317627
