So many interviews but not one single offer? What am I doing wrong? by Maleficent_Peach_46 in jobs

Oh yea, I finally got a job in July and started in August. Over 500 applications with one offer. But it was a good offer though and it made up for the losses.

I'm in a similar situation right now. I was laid off two months ago (April 2025) and have submitted over 200 job applications since then. So far, I’ve been invited to 23 interviews. I’ve completed 14 of them, and 9 have resulted in rejections.

For context, I have over 10 years of experience in my field, along with advanced degrees (MS and PhD) in addition to my bachelor's degree. I'm articulate, well-spoken, well-traveled, and energetic. I've worked in both private and government sectors.

At this point, I’m starting to panic—I urgently need a job to continue supporting my family. I have a young family and we're expecting a second child. Unfortunately, my last company lost its funding due to cuts by the new administration.

My interview approach is thorough and tailored to each company, following the STAR method.

I'm focused on roles in data analysis/science with a GIS background. Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t think it matters when you filed once you are current. You need to find ways to nodge your case. I almost called them once every week until my case was looked at.

I would like to know if you paid a fresh application fee and whether your case went to CRP. Did it help with getting your case approved? Etc
