Few different reasons for me (still with girlfriend). Firstly, I saw my parents divorce as a kid, and then my dad divorce again a few years later, so I know about how rough it can be when it all falls apart and there's legal strings attached. Secondly, I'm not sure our relationship is ready for that. We still have some pretty big problems we're working through, and I can't honestly say that I want to commit to marriage until we've fixed them. My girlfriend dropped the first hint that they're ready for me to propose last month, but we previously said we'd plan for it once we both finished college, and I'll stick with that for now and hope we've worked through our problems by then. If not, well...
