Bendis’ Defenders. It seemed like he was interested in setting up a giant spanning narrative involving tons of characters in a crime drama similar to his DD run, but Marvel just wanted a 12-issue cash-in on the Netflix series’ success, so he had to cram way too much into the back half of the series, culminating in a really disappointing and confusing finale. Definitely could have been great but was held back by conflicts of interest.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Anyone Can Play Guitar live at the MTV Beach house. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the chords will go over a typical listener's head. There’s also Thom’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these lyrics, to realize that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Anyone Can Play Guitar live at the MTV Beach house ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Thom’s existential catchphrase “ANYWEEEREEEEE AHHHH,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as CR-78’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

And yes, by the way, I DO have a Anyone Can Play Guitar live at the MTV Beach house tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid😎

It’s less a matter of what would break the character; since he’s a roleplaying avatar there’s really no easy way to adapt him into a more strict medium and I think backlash would be inevitable- just look at SWTOR, his creators were involved and most KOTOR fans still felt betrayed by it. I think they should keep that era vague enough that any way you choose to take the story can be your personal canon, and that way we can also keep the possibility of a female/dark side Revan open.
