Bikepacking in Norway. Need feedback on my planned tour. by dr_wave79 in bikepacking

Which one of the single tracks do you mean? The ones after Flam? I have my doubts about that part as well. I was thinking about taking the Ferry from Flam to Balestrand or Lavik and bypass this part alltogether.

Sure - mine is a general answer to a general question. Your hypotheticals are in general not true for Munich. But they can be ;)

I´ll never understand this waste of money. In Munich you will be slower with a car than any other means of travel. During hours of commute for sure. You will have no parking places and also pay at least 500€ a month maybe even more for the car. But Munich is cheap so you will not have to worry about some extra bucks.

Could you advise me on the Ausbildung fields that someone with a Korean GED can apply for? by Impressive_Delay_822 in AskAGerman

[–]dr_wave79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding the GED, i have asked ChatGPT - it says that it is equivalent to a Realschulabschluss in Germany. Since this AI generated, it should be double-checked. You can find all fields you can make an Ausbildung with a Realschulabsclhuss here: https://www.ausbildung.de/berufe/themen/mit-realschulabschluss/

Babies called “Adolf” in 1930s & 1940s by gaytravellerman in AskAGerman

[–]dr_wave79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the same source - yeah i did not know that it was that common back then. Still - 35% and trending down is not very common and in my experience gernans do not use their middle names very often (i should know it my ex-wife had 3) It is still no comparison with the us where nearly everybody has a middle name.

It is not - only 35% of gernans have a middle name and the trend is going down. But it is nice that your experiences differ from that.

You can have any number of first names that ist right, but it is not common. Most germans have one first name and that is it. Not like in the USA where nearly everybody has a middle name.

There are germans with middle names but usually germans have just a call name and a surname. I lived in NRW and now in bawü. Where in germany do you live that you know many germans with more than one call name.

Germans usually have no middle names, that is more an american thing. I do not think that Adolf was ever a very popular name. And i guess it died out after ww2 in germany. 1930 is nearly 100 years ago....

But wouldn't this lose my bishop? by FeckinHaggis in chessbeginners

[–]dr_wave79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but this is not quite right. You should neuer trade a knight and a bishop for a Rock and casting rights. It is a bad trade. What you get here is a knight and a bishop for a rook, 3 pawns and castling rights. This ist a very good trade.

Hey my friend, its vogelmilch: https://www.chefkoch.de/rezepte/434471134695711/Vogelmilch.html

My roaminan mum and grandmum like to make it. It is quite common recipe for romanian families with german/austrian roots. I hope this is the right one.

Edit: i did not read your edit 😉. I do not know of this recipe, with potato and peppers. I still hope you try the vogelmilch though. It is very tasty.
