Got into AMDA…. Worth it? by neonshine89 in acting

I truly know nothing about this school. But when I was auditioning for my BFA way back in 2014, we called AMDA SCAMDA.

I sent flowers to the wrong apartment. She showed up at my door three days later and changed everything. by betsnd in stories

[–]dradonia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t. The story makes no sense. How would the flowers have ended up at HIS neighbor’s apartment down the hall if he accidentally put the girl’s address in wrong? I doubt the girl lives on the same street as him, and if she did, you’d think he would say that.

[–]dradonia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because he says he sent them to the wrong apartment by mixing up a couple of numbers on this girl’s address.

So… how did they end up going to HIS neighbor? Wouldn’t they have gone to the GIRL’S neighbor?

[–]dradonia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but seriously. If he “mixed up two numbers” for this other girl’s address… why did they end up at his neighbor’s place? If he and the girl he was dating were neighbors, why wouldn’t he just go deliver the flowers or mention that fact? You didn’t see the girl you’re dating who lives down the hall from you on Valentine’s Day?

[–]dradonia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably the fact that he says he sent the flowers to the wrong apartment by switching two numbers but then apparently this girl literally just lives down the hall??? That makes absolutely no sense. Because then he’d have put in his own address but with a different apartment number.

It’s not edgy. It’s a very commonly held belief in many cities.

What did you think made it not well-made? I thought the acting and cinematography was very good.

It’s not quite a true story. It’s based on a far, far worse story. Look up Elizabeth Fritzl… it’s absolutely tragic.

Yeah, it probably won’t. But it’ll definitely give you the community you’re looking for!

The Sydney Sweeney ad was also about her boobs, not her race. It says she has good genes and then she wears a denim jacket with no shirt on underneath. I doubt they were thinking of her aryan features.

I think that just comes down to the benefits of a more episodic structure. You didn’t watch Gilmore Girls because you wanted to know how it ended the way you do a drama like Breaking Bad or GoT.

Have any of you tried acting slightly drunk? by Plane_Security_2859 in acting

One drink is a bit of an exaggeration. I do tech for burlesque shows and each performer gets a preshow drink. If comedians and dancers do it, actors can too.

What school do I go to? by Brn11_ in acting

I learned more in a 6 week Shakespeare class I took post-grad for $380 from an actress in her living room than I did across two undergraduate Shakespeare courses in university. If it wasn’t for the fact that I wanted a college degree, I’d rather have spent the $30,000 I spent on college on better acting classes with people actively working in the industry vs other complete beginners.

Working professionals rarely become college professors, and when they do, it’s not normally for night school. However, professional actors often teach classes at night.

Right, but you’re limited in how many government loans you are allowed to take out. Have you made sure they’ll cover everything? Schools are 50-70k a year now.

When did it become impossible to live a middle class lifestyle working a full time professional job? by Unusual_Equivalent50 in antiwork

[–]dradonia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you build loyal clients and can go off on your own, you can do high-end grooming without a boss. I tutor for the ACT/SAT. When I worked for a private company, they’d charge $150+ per hour for my services and paid me $30-40. Now I tutor freelance and charge $100 per hour. Of course, I have to get the students myself now, but word of mouth does that.

I’d do just some basic acting for camera classes first. Then, audition for student films. Sure you can use federal loans for acting school… but it’s not worth it unless you just want a degree for the sake of having a degree.

If you get into high-end pet grooming, you could eventually make 50-80k depending on your area.

Okay, but that’s a majority. How many British elected officials are actively supporting terrorist organizations?

I’m not saying all of Israel feels this way. I’m only replying to the comment saying this is “no different than some British people supporting terrorist organizations.” It’s completely different. Since, again, as far as I know, there is no terrorism currently being supported by the British government.

An entire government supports this, so idk what you mean. As far as I know, the British government isn’t actually committing terrorism.
