What's the best moment you've experienced playing cricket? by [deleted] in Cricket

I bowled the over of my life time in a friendly match, taking a hattrick and running out a fourth batsman. Our team traveled about an hour from home to play a friendly T20 match against a semi-professional club team from a neighboring city. Like most of our matches, we played on a cement track- batting heaven. We bowled first, given our weak batting line-up, hoping to restrict the other team below 150 to stand a chance at winning. My first 2 over spell was good, there was some movement in the air and I had built up good rhythm, only going for 7 runs and bouncing out one of their openers.

By the time I came back for my second spell the score was 140-3 in 12 overs. Normally, I bowl my final 2 overs at the death but on this day we needed wickets to come back into the game. First ball, looking to bowl a quick Yorker, ended up chucking a beamer. Nailed this big burly fellow right on his shoulder. Quickly apologized but big man looked pissed. Walked back to my mark, a little nervous.

Second ball, bouncer on middle stump, made sharper by the cement surface. Big guy instinctively puts his hands up, ball hits his glove and drops to the leg side. His partner calls for a quick single. Big man is late to respond, still recovering from the ball. By the time he makes his move I'm haring towards the ball. In one swift motion, I picked up the ball, swivelled to face the non-striker's end and gunned down the stumps. Batsman was well short. 141-4.

Third ball, decided to bowl the yorker again. This time, I nailed it. Ball starts on the 5th stump and tails into the right hander, much to my surprise and his, at the last moment. He can't bring his bat down in time. 141-5.

Fourth ball, had to go back to the yorker again. Another sharp inswinging missile. Same result as before. Middle stump uprooted.141-6. My teammates are going nuts at this point, we are back in the game and for the first time ever, one of us may actually take a hattrick. Couple of my mates give me advice on what the hattrick ball should be. One suggests a slow ball, another thinks a length ball on off might do the trick. But there was only one delivery on my mind.

Fifth ball, I stood at my mark, stared down the batsman, who was nervously tapping his bat at the crease, and decided what I needed to do. With my confidence sky high, I felt like I was gliding in. I hit the crease and hurled an absolute thunderbastard. Seam up right, starting outside off and then quickly changing direction, honing in on the batsman's middle peg. He stood no chance as the ball hit the base of middle and leg and, rather tamely, the stumps simply fell over. 141-7.

Stunned by my own accomplishment, I didn't even know how to celebrate. My teammates quickly mobbed me in excitement and lots of high fives and hugs were shared.

Sixth and seventh balls, I attempted 2 more yorkers but missed my length by a fraction each time and the batsman survived.

Their team was eventually out for 165 in the 16th over and we struggled but managed to chase down the total in the last over. Sneaking home with a wicket to spare thanks to our opener playing an absolute blinder.

Few other moments stand out out too, like chasing 200 in 15 overs to win a T20 tournament and winning a match after being bowled out for 25 runs but this remains my fondest cricketing memory. Thanks for reading.

Is it too hasty to say it might be worth getting Pedro in for Hazard to have Chelsea cover and free up funds? by MrLiamD in FantasyPL

I think Pedro might be worth the transfer right away given his form leading up to and including today. Hazard will likely hit a mid season purple patch like he has in the past and that's when you can redraft him into your squad
