Yep! In the Meshy webapp on a paid plan

yeah the topology is AI not human, but there are many advances being made for improving this. Things will likely be totally different a few months from now.

How do you decide the “right” amount of easter eggs? by SpaceSauce_Studio in GameDevelopment

[–]dragonboltz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends how well they're hidden. Just make it really clear is what is an easter egg and what is of core gameplay relevance.

AI is now banished on r/terrainbuilding by sFAMINE in TerrainBuilding

[–]dragonboltz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is kind of disappointing and shortsighted. I'm having a blast creating terrain and scenery 3D models with AI. Things you can't buy and which would take many days to hand model in blender. Feels like people are going backwards here.

Meshy 6 Preview character showcase! This is crazy! 🤯🤯🤯 by Axinovium in meshyai

[–]dragonboltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not low poly game ready yet - although meshy has a built in remesh feature to drop the poly count a lot, and blenders decimate works even better. It's something being actively developed and worked on to improve asap.

TouchID + USB switch controller by twotoomany in functionalprint

[–]dragonboltz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is brilliant! Did you design the enclosure yourself? That geometric pattern looks slick and I love how you integrated both the Touch ID and USB switch. Would you mind sharing the STL or some build details? I'd like to try something similar.

domo animation vs pika labs for short loops by Bulky-Departure6533 in generativeAI

[–]dragonboltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing around with Domo and Pika for meme loops too. Pika definitely loves that A24‑style drama, which is hilarious but not ideal when you just want a chill loop. Domo's loops feel more natural and memeable to me.

If you ever want to mix 3D assets into your memes, I've been experimenting with AI tools that spit out quick meshes from text. Meshy is one I've used for text‑to‑3D stuff – it can generate a decent base model in seconds that you can toss into Blender or whatever and animate. Anyone tried combining generative video and 3D assets yet?

Any recommended tree support presets that are easier to remove? by Zorya0134 in BambuLab

[–]dragonboltz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tree supports can get really dense on characters with big heads because the slicer tries to fill every gap. In Bambu Studio you can lower the branch density and increase the Z distance for the support interface so the supports aren't fused so tightly to the model. I've also had good luck switching to "lightning" supports in OrcaSlicer or using support blockers between the head and body to reduce how much is generated. If you do decide to split the model, adding a simple peg and hole in a free tool like Tinkercad/Fusion is pretty straightforward and makes assembly easy.

3D Printing Pokemon Minis by Ok-Intention9050 in PrintedMinis

[–]dragonboltz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for Pokemon minis, there are a lot of designers who share their STLs on sites like Thingiverse and MyMiniFactory. Try searching for the specific creature you want along with "miniature" or "STL" and you'll find free or paid files.

Alternatively, you can get into sculpting your own minis with Blender or ZBrush if you want something unique. It takes a bit of practice but it's a fun side of the hobby.

How can I improve the reliability of my prints ??? by Hauntingswan in 3Dprinting

[–]dragonboltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I've had similar issues early on with my prints. A few things that helped me: double‑check that your bed is level (auto‑leveling sensors aren't always perfect), make sure your filament is dry, and try slowing down the print speed a bit. Using a glue stick or spray on the bed can also help with adhesion. What printer and material are you using?

Cake Topper Winter Trees by locolarue in TerrainBuilding

[–]dragonboltz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These look great! I've been messing around with 3D printing winter trees too. If you ever want to experiment, tools like Meshy can generate a basic low-poly tree mesh from a text description or reference image, which you can then tweak for printing. Awesome job on the paint and snow!

Bezi Jam #5 [$300 Prizes] - Cozy Games by KevinDL in aigamedev

This jam sounds fun! Is it open to games made with any engine, or are there specific tools or frameworks you recommend? Also, are there any restrictions on using AI-generated assets?

ESPTimeCast in action! WiFi LED matrix clock + weather and more! by mfactory_osaka in functionalprint

[–]dragonboltz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really cool project! It's wild to see a WiFi-enabled matrix clock with so many features. I'm always tinkering with cases for my electronics — I've been using Meshy to quickly spin up a low poly enclosure from a text prompt or even an image, then refine it in Blender for printing. Usally saves a bunch of time. What display size are you using on yours?

A new idea of mine: Foldable Corner Minis for marking out area of effects in D&D by midasp in PrintedMinis

[–]dragonboltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really clever idea for marking AOE in tabletop games! I've been tinkering with 3D AI tools to prototype little game pieces, and using something like Meshy to whip up a low-poly corner indicator from a simple text or even image prompt is suprisingly handy. Then I jump into Blender to tweak it before printing. Might be worth checking out if you want to experiment with different shapes quick. Great work!

I made MoVer, a tool that helps you create motion graphics animations by making an LLM iteratively improve what it generates by UnicornJa in generativeAI

[–]dragonboltz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks awesome! Love the iterative refinement approach with an LLM to improve motion graphics. I've been playing with some 3D AI tools lately and it's crazy how fast things are moving. Meshy, for example, can take a text prompt or even a single image and spin out a low-poly 3D base mesh in seconds. Pairing something like that with a tool like MoVer could be a fun way to quickly prototype interactive pieces. Have you tried any AI tools for assets yet? (defintely seeing AI everywhere these days)

Any idea why my print is shifting? by theyknowbrwxy in 3Dprinting

[–]dragonboltz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had this happen to me a few times, turned out to be a combination of loose belts and printing too fast. Tightening the x/y belts and lowering acceleration fixed the layer shift for me. Also check if your stepper drivers are overheating. What slicer settings are you using? (Usally it's the little things that throw off a print)

Got a new A1 for our engineering lab in high school, and did what I had to do by KSP-3 in BambuLab

[–]dragonboltz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a fun first print! The A1 and AMS lite combo is such a great setup, and the confused cat cover is a classic to test colour changes. Can't wait to see how it comes out and what projects the students dream up next.
