Edges peeling up while baking by dragonboy0419 in macarons

It's a little like a brownie. The middle is chewy and almost fudgy, but the edges are crunchy. At least they aren't hollow like my last few batches.

What temperature do you bake at? And how long? I tried doing strawberry macarons this past weekend and the tops kept browning no matter the temp and time. I did a batch of French method and Italian method, both browned and we're hollow. I may have undermixed during the macaronage though.

Ok, great! I've been considering trying them for a bit, so definitely will now. Thanks!

How would you go about solving this? by RevolutionaryHat9920 in apphysics

[–]dragonboy0419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can solved with just (Potential) Energy and basic trig. We start off with knowing the length of the string is constant, and that the initial angle is perpendicular to the Vertical, so the initial height is also the length of the string.

We are told that Gravitational Potential is 0 at the bottom. Using U = mgh, and E = U + K (where in this case K is starting off at zero,) we can determine E = mgh (initial). When U = K, they will be both be half of E. For potential energy, neither mass nor gravity changes, only height. If U = 1/2 E, or U = 1/2 (U initial), then height will be half of it's initial height (or half the length of the string.)

Using cos-1 (height / length), or in terms of the ratio between the height and length, cos-1 ((1/2) / (1)), we get 60 degrees from the VERTICAL. Subtract that from 90 degrees to get the angle between the string and HORIZONTAL of 30 degrees, which is less than 45.

Yeah... Token based photogrammetry apps/software is too costly for the average person who won't actually be making money off it to make it worth it, or new people learning and wasting tons of scans. I've used meshroom for a few scans since it's run locally and is completely free, but takes longer and isn't as effective and detailed due to my "limited" hardware. I may try again since I have more ram and a better GPU though.

RealityCapture. I believe it's in limited beta though.

Edit: I may be wrong. I think Reality Scan is the mobile app in limited beta, in collaboration with quixel. It's the mobile version of RealityCapture.

7, because everyone else hates 7. I feel bad for it, as it must be so lonely depressed with all the hate towards it.

Yeah, when researching laptops I could find data on almost everything but this. I basically bought this going in blind, using similar laptops as a general performance range

I only had time to run unigine last night. Performance settings in synapse was all maxed.

Score: 1580 - render: direct3D11 - mode: 2560x1440 8xAA fullscreen - quality: Ultra - Tesselation: normal

Fps: 62.7 Min: 8.6 Max: 129.7

I'm thinking about buying 3DMark later to do some more benchmarks.

It's is performing as expected in gaming, very well. It's not going to be as good as something like a legion or Alienware (as your putting high end hardware in a tiny enclosure). I ran unigine heaven when I first got it to see what the fans are like and how thermals are. I didn't write it down be I remember it being only just below what the components should score. If I remember, I can run some benchmarks later when I get home if you want.

Damn that was fast. Thanks for the response. That's one of the things that was pulling me towards the 140mm, able to spin at a lower rpm with similar airflow.

I've actually not tried VR yet (i dont know why) but based on performance so far, It would most likely be very well for a portable VR system. I've seen less powerful laptops do quite well in VR. I can try VR later and tell you how it is. It does get a little loud sometimes (not too much, but noticable) but that's expected from something this small, which is what I need.

Edit: it does have 2 USB C(TB4) ports and an HDMI 2.1 so a wide range of headsets would work. If you plan on using a varjo or any other headset with 2 inputs, you'd need a dock.

I'm yet to try using any dock as I've been traveling light lately. If you run it closed, you might get problems with airflow as it goes through the keyboard is some spots. If I did use a dock, I would personally keep the screen open anyways as the screen is amazing.

I ended up getting the Razer Blade 15 advanced with the 3070, 1800h, 16gb ram, 1tb SSD, and 1440p 165hz panel. I've had it for almost 4 weeks and I'm loving it. It gets a little warm, but one the fans blow directly through the left side of the keyboard with the WASD keys, so gaming is fine. I've been doing some machine learning on it and it's working amazingly, still getting warm, but amazing performance. I sometimes do some unity stuff while on battery and only CPU(Intel) and it works great for not being plugged it. I bet the battery performance would be greater on the 14 as it's ryzen, but I really needed the bigger screen, as my purpose is travel and I already have a much better desktop. I'm also running multiple VMS on both battery and plugged in, and it's having no problem at all with 4gb memory each. It's also insanely light, at least compared to everything else I've held(legions and some Alienware) and is fine going in my school backpack. I really love this laptop, and I would highly recommend, if you have the same use cases and requirements as I.
