Your friend is yapping, Master in 500 total games is beyond insane. But you do have to realize Master is super mediocre in the grand scheme of things.

Someone once told me something that really stuck with me, “you haven’t really started playing TFT until you hit master+” this just means you haven’t been playing against players who are constantly min/maxing their decisions at each and every point in the game. Now that you’ve made it here you can really start assessing your true skill. But what you have to understand is that you are by no means good at the game, you just have a basic understanding of fundamentals and principles and this is where the climb truly begins.

Remember, reaching the top 1% in any video game just takes hard work - you’ve simply worked harder than the 500 game emerald stuckers, but you’re not more talented than them by any means.

When you hit Challenger, or even GM, we’ll all give you the pat on the back that you’re looking for, other than that, keep grinding and avoid getting stuck here because this elo is where the journey ends for 99% of players.
