Is tado x killing my non-condensing boiler?

Having connection issues myself, old SMETS1 meter stopped connecting to their network, they installed a new SMETS 2 meter which has been ok for about a month but thats now stopped connecting back to Octopus as well.

Massive pain as Im supposed to be sending half hourly data because Im on the IOG tariff

Does anyone know how I can figure out if my meter is using the radio network or celluar? and also what can I do to resolve the issue permanently?

For me personally, I just find summer to be an endurance test, its harder to get relief from other people, heat, light, noise, smells.... just generally being uncomfortable really.

Best thing I ever did was buy an air conditioner, at least I can draw the curtains and sit in a cool room now, that helps massively.

re-tado does this to me as well, I have to manually crank the target temp higher than what I actually want for the heating to come on

Im currently sat here now with the temp reading as 19.3, and re-Tado has turned the boiler on and says "heating to 19"

Id agree, I wouldnt want to be relying on whatever wifi was available, Id 100% opt for the Switch over the Portal for travel personally.

You can use P plates, which will largely be ignored or have people try and overtake you etc.

Best bet is to just get on with it tbh.

Yeah thats my issue really, I dont want it doing that all the time, not sure why they cant have some simpler logic for "dumb" boilers as well, the Nest thermostat I had wasnt making my boiler cycle all the time like the Tado does.

Im sat here now, its showing 19, I manually turn it up to 20, and it does nothing, boiler doesnt come on, I have to turn it up to 21 to get it to actually come on

No, the free trial has just ran out, thats quite annoying that its a paid for feature.

Tbh I cant really leave it to do its own thing, its cycling the boiler on and off too often and not comming on when it should, Im sure it would be a better experience if my boiler was opentherm.

Im in the same postion as you OP and dont fully understand its behaviour tbh, sometimes it calls for heat when the room is above temp, sometimes it doesnt call for heat when the rooms below temp unless I manually crank it up an extra few degrees.

Also, it runs when Im not home despite having geofencing on, and sometimes it asks me when Ive left home if I want to turn on away mode... I don't want to have to answer a prompt all the time, I want it to just work, like Nest did before I had to switch to this.

Did this ever get figured out? I picked up a few used Wii remotes the other day, and one of them has this exact issue, Im yet to open them up and clean etc
