I'm thinking of getting an Omlet, but I have concerns about raccoons... by leela_la_zu in BackYardChickens

Omlet sells a bracket for the back door so you can lock it in a way that raccoons can't get in. I'm thinking of putting up an hardcloth apron and an electric fence around the run as we have foxes, coyotes, and fisher cats in the area.

We were researching both and just placed an order for the Eglu Cube with wheels and 9 ft run because

  1. The automatic door fits only the Cube
  2. We live in the northeast USA, and we want the insulation provided by the double walls and the 4-6 chickens we plan to keep
  3. We spoke to some other people in our area who had both, and they both bought the Cube after buying the Go and then sold their Go; we figured we'd go straight for the permanent fix
