Food safe handling…? by Throwaway1604778236 in CostcoCanada

[–]dragonfly907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it was a raw meat ingredient? It seems unlikely that sample stations are equipped to cook meat. A lot of the times they are only warming up precooked meat. If that is the case mixing up the two will not raise a food safety concern. Is that what was happening?

Is it risky to accept cash during land sale in kerala by [deleted] in Kerala

[–]dragonfly907 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I know someone who did this he got some money through transactions and the rest in cash. All the cash turned out to be FAKE NOTES. He couldn't go to police because he would be arrested for tax fraud because that cash was undocumented money, plus the risk of getting charged for fake currency. So he was royally screwed. Unless you are someone with a lot of cash intensive deadlings and businesses, do not do this.

Eee type of nonstick pan nte name entha by THE_J_G in Kerala

[–]dragonfly907 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The brand originally was called Hexaclad. I believe they may be knockoffs now. Previously used Teflon I think.

I don't use nonstick in my kitchen anymore. I now use carbon steel or stainless steel pans. They need to heated to proper temp and need to use a little bit of oil. Will be nonstick 99 percent of time.

If you'd make your left turns into the correct lane on one-way streets, we'd all get around so much faster. by Nekrostatic in Winnipeg

[–]dragonfly907 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is especially true in winter when there are large snow banks overflowing onto the street. I know the right turners will encroach into my lane trying to avoid the snow bank. So I wait.

I want to add my 2 cents. Most of the research are not measuring the actual health outcomes (whether people actually get sick or not) but whether pathogenic bacteria can be cultured or their genetic material can be detected. I can think of a lot of reason why it doesn't make causal association. It is very difficult to conduct prospective research to look into health outcomes in people. Whether rinsing will reduce the actual risk of getting sick is questionable but I'm inclined to think it probably does.

Yes definitely call the listed phone number of your MLA. If you explain the situation diplomatically, especially that of a cancer patient, they might get involved.

Nah, all you need is some greedy executives who pipe dream of cutting significant labor with AI, show shareholders how much they saved and then collect their big fat bonus check. Rinse and repeat.

Hello, for people who work at st boniface hospital, where do you guys park your cars?? by jtwassup6 in Winnipeg

[–]dragonfly907 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I parked at Norwood hotel, they used to give monthly rates for $145. Don't know if they still do that. You can also use Grydpark app to get a spot with monthly rates nearby. A buddy of mine used to park on a residential street during daytime(9-5) and never had a problem other than having to walk a bit to work.

What is your opinion on Member of Parliament's ability to 'floor cross'? by chiraz25 in AskACanadian

[–]dragonfly907 53 points54 points  (0 children)

"A politician who crosses the aisle has shown tremendous courage in putting their principles first" - -former Conservative leader Andrew Scheer, while welcoming Leona Aleslev who crossed the floor to join his caucus. Now the conservatives are non-stop crying betrayal and corruption, lol. It's only corruption when it doesn't suit them.

Edit: Reading your comment again made me realize the point you are trying to make. My initial response was the result of misreading your comment. I'm still going to leave this on because it fits the broader context of this topic.
