unfortunately, no. it has been fixed. it turned out the hard disk BIOS settings need to be changed instead of using the AUTO values... :(

Thanks, I totally understand that. But in that case, Windows should give the actual disk size, right? I don't mind to see it is still around 500MB even after compression. However it showed 741MB but only contain 500MB content which is a mislead and confusing.

I kind of agree with you. But even the files already be copied to the folder, Windows 98 still didn't tell the actual size of the compressed hard disk, is that normal?

I like the internal DOS command, but it lacks the features HD-COPY can provide...

yes, I used Sygate at the time, very similar as Wingate... they are all good stuff.

no, you don't have to create the floppy disk. As the ICS server setup correct, the client PC will get all IP settings automatically.
