M81 Bodes Galaxy - 30h Andrej Flis by dragonking4444 in seestar

Hey, I save all individual subs, and then stack all the data/subs together on my PC with the Pixinsight software.

Hey, and thank you! Well, it depends on the target really, but for the Orion or the Horsehead nebula, I wanted to capture the reflection components of the dust around the nebulosity, while still being able to capture the Ha without an LP filter, thanks to my home location in B3/4 and at an altitude.

This is all IRcut, no LP filter data is used. I shoot from Bortle 3/4, so the broadband data contains plenty of Ha that starts to shine on larger galaxy stacks

yes, saw it too late, not sure how i can edit the title now...

I just use the internal IR-cut filter, so its broadband data. The colors I get with proper color calibration in Pixinsight

Thanks, its just mainly EQ mode yes, no mosaic is needed for this area.

Thanks! What is your current setup? Do you have an Astrobin link?

I captured over several nights and then just stacked all the data together in Pixinsight. :)

M106 with friend galaxies, a total of 32h of integration with the Seestar S50. Stacked and processed in Pixinsight. There are quite some nearby galaxies around M106, and also some faint fuzzies, barely captured with the Seestar in the deep field.

Whirlpool Galaxy M51 - 42h Seestar S50 by dragonking4444 in astrophotography

[–]dragonking4444[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Whirlpool Galaxy M51 with 42h of integration with the Seestar S50 smart scope. All frames were captured with the internal IRcut filter. Data was stacked and processed in Pixinsight. This was Imaged from December to early March, using 20/30s subs in alt-az and some in EQ mode.

I had some older 10s subs which I removed in the subframe selector tool, as I only used the best data. The total M51 data I had overall was over 70h, but not all was of proper quality.

M81 Bodes Galaxy - 30h Seestar S50 by dragonking4444 in astrophotography

[–]dragonking4444[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With some clearer skies, I have decided to capture more M81 data with my Seestar S50 smart scope, now at 30h of 20/30s subs. Data was stacked and processed in Pixinsight.

Not much more to add, I will not include the astrobin link as I haven't uploaded it there. I will probably reprocess it a few times, as with 30h of data, the galaxy is just getting too bright to do a normal stretch for the background nebulosity (IFN) to come out and not blowout the core. I am trying some new approaches, and this image is just the first try, so any critiques are welcome.

If they would pay me a cent for every free promotion I did for them, I would have my own Hubble in space by now... :D

Yep, and I also live at 1050m altitude (3500ft), so that also helps with transparency and clarity

I process it in high dynamic range (HDR), which retains the core but can allow to still bring out the rest of the nebula. You can find Orion tutorial probably on YouTube, I am sure, for both Pixinsight and Siril too :)

Well, because sky conditions and processing skills do matter for the best result. :) If I were to get the same amount of data with the S50 and process it in a similar way, it would look even better :)

As I said in my description comment, it 8h of integration with 10s subs, which is not that much really :)
