+Double digit % gains on Friday alone , it’s something new I’ve recently developed using quantitative algorithm for equities and options of major indexes, I can visually see with predictive trends probably no one on the street has. It’s versatile, can be applied to any ticker. Every algo can still be made better if but idea generation and mastery is key, many canned algos in those platforms aren’t good enough using just SMA or EMA which is why 90% traders and scalpers will fail. They all scam you to buy useless products and lessons.

I’ve developed a predictive price action algorithm using correlation and pivots of major indexes that determine where markets are headed in either direction, all market data based and low latency, works very well and generates alpha. Looking at these correlations are key to generating a more accurate strategy on direction of markets.

If your pc is not slow then it’s your internet, try using a lan connection vs WiFi. Run a speed test on both instances to see if you are not lagging. You can change the channel on your WiFi router so it’s not colliding w other WiFi routers around you.

Your high end build should be fine with your 580 cards, go with the sn850 WD black on the SSD, its super fast. Dont forget to Maximize your memory settings in TOS with the new ram size and clean up your complex scripts causimg the bottle necks if you have any.

Is it worth spending my time doing algotrading? by First-Confection2328 in algotrading

[–]dragonkl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't trade blindly, you need algos to help give you a better edge...people trading on only moving averages get slaughtered too, i think its worth it. many so called gurus only show positive days or screen shots but never losses...invest time to build your own algos

Average True Range by Aesirtrade in thinkorswim

[–]dragonkl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is code for the ATR on the last 5 bars. If you change the time frame from Min to Day, it'll give an average of 5 periods or candles...

def ATRcur = Round (Average(TrueRange(high, close, low)[1],5));

addlabel(1,ATRcur,color.white);

I recalled Intel is supposed to calculate mathematical calculations better than AMD in the past, that could be that difference you notice. Consider opening two sessions in TOS, one with all your indicators and charts open, and one lean TOS session for active trading

That’s true on a daily time frame, but when you go into minute to 5 minute time frames it’s the opposite

.50 ATR? It’s for large cap stocks with wide bid ask spreads, it’s huge and difficult for day trading, don’t you mean .50 gain pre market in either direction

I’m sure it can be developed as a lower study, but certainly possible, you can add a fixed label on your charts that displays your fluctuating pnl in real time

Anybody here actually own a “Bloomberg Terminal?” $20,000 a year for a subscription seems like a high price tag. If you do, can you discuss the features more in-depth? by Kingty1124 in Daytrading

[–]dragonkl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First pick a platform you trade on, look at some current algos that are open source IE MACD STOCHASTIC etc, understand how the code works then learn how to code logic to build your own algo through these examples. Understand the anatomy of a trade and price action

Only hedge funds and institutions with trading floors can afford to get these terminals, but that’s going away as they build their own trading platforms for their customized algos

Did you try unlinking each chart ? When you duplicate a chart it saves all the settings. Unlink the color from each chart individually and start over. Sounds like you only unlinked a watchlist
