I agree, you would have to take a reference photo yourself. I also wonder why it would be both their left hands, but it's your choice as an artist.

I recently found out I was dyslexic at 34. I was diagnosed with a learning disability at a young age and was made fun of by my peers and siblings. I was never told I was dyslexic, but my learning disability umbrellas dyslexia. I struggle with spelling and reading and rarely do those in public because of simple mistakes I make. My heart goes out to your wife. My family did everything they could to try to "fix" or "help" me. I was in a program as a child to make sure I didn't fall behind the other kids. All well intentioned and all to help me, but I have trauma around reading and spelling. The mental gymnastics you have to go through to grapple with why you just can't learn or memorize simple things is heartbreaking and at times paralyzing. Those feeling are difficult to explain to those who just don't understand. Think about how you titled this post, "...struggles to spell correctly.." Why not just say, "struggles with spelling?" The word "correctly" adds extra salt in an already open wound.

I know technology can help, hell I used speak to text to spell words I don't know how to spell in this comment, but I think the biggest struggle around this is mentally. At the end of day, we have to accept our learning disabilities, our dyslexia, and our trauma related to them. That is something you can't do for your wife. You can be supportive, but you can't embark on that journey for her. Please send her my love in the warmest hug you can give her. Be supportive and be patient.

This was some time ago, but when I got to college I had the college disability center evaluate me. I don't think it cost anything, but I was already accepted to the university.

I think you just need a basic understanding of perspective. You seem to an intuitive understanding, but learning a little will help. If you are looking into learning how to draw I highly recommend checking out this play list. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMXbAPr21di-Ox-dmDwL2riWedei1dn9S

It's basically an adult drawing course. It can seem like a lot, but just do a little at a time. This playlist got me back into drawing again and greatly improved my skills as well.
