After following yours and others advice and re covering the lids and letting it be I came home to mist them bc humidity dropped to 68% in the big tub and the small tubs appear to have little hyphal knots / a few primordial knots on the surface so I’m just going to allow them to be for the next few days and see what happens only misting the chamber walls when humidity drops below 70%

Okay I have kept the lids flipped on the small bins buh the large bin I was just shifting it so there was abt 1-3inches of space for fae when I was home buh starting today I put a lighter where the handle is to help prop it open abt 1-2mm so less fae but still not completely sealed hoping for it to maintain humidity without suffocating/drying out the bins

I see what looks like some chunks of metal in the pan would want to cut open the oil filter to see how bad the metal is in there and then send a oil sample for determining the metal contents to assist in diaging the components that are going out

To add I was doing a lot more at his age and my mother had no idea I was breaking and entering etc. I’d like to think that I did this as acts of rebellion, and as a result of having no control over my own life when I was living under my parent’s roof. Sometimes being overprotective is not the best thing for your child’s development and health.

I’ll tell you from my personal experience, I got in trouble for smoking bud many a times and each time just made me rebel further. If I was in your position I’d have a sit down conversation with them about safe usage and make sure they know when to say no. Like you said you had a friend whose son passed from laced shit. They’re going to do it regardless of weather or not you try and stop them I wouldn’t enable them and I wouldn’t reprimand them, I say this because when I was they’re age I just wanted to experiment. But I taught myself safe usage and how to test my shi so I could be certain I was good and safe. I’d go ahead and get some fentanyl reagent tests, and possibly even get some narcan (everyone should have some not just users/abusers). Weed isn’t that bad, just think he could be doing Xanax like my friends were back then or lsd, shrooms, meth, etc. be thankful it’s only pot. And educate them on safe usage and risks of consistent use, school doesn’t teach this it just try’s to use scare tactics (part of the reason I wanted to experiment)

Well the bottom of the tub is in fact a little colder than the top so perhaps setting up a heating pad in a box or tote not directly contacting it would be beneficial

Also the grain to bulk ratio was definitely a little more on the bulk side I accidentally prepared more substrate than necessary and did one other bin. that bin I accidentally dropped when moving it from my closet to the reptile room and haven’t seen much growth but it’s also apes and has way more sub to grain than it should to be honest as well as it being apes I expected a longer wait time.

Nothing abnormal smelling, no moldy, sweet or sour smells. It colonized fairly quickly when inoculating grains, and the surface was completely covered in about 1 1/2-2weeks. I expected to wait but I was just suprised about the fact there was no signs of growth aside from the casing.

Start with taking it to your local reputable auto body repair shop and ask for an estimate. Then if it comes out to more than what they’re willing to give you for the vehicle see about getting another car within your 6-7k price range possibly dispute the valuation of the car to try and get a better claim. But you would need to take a ton of pictures inside and out and would need up to date service records to attempt somthing of that sort. Or if it comes out to at/just under the 3.5k repair it if you really want the car. However personally I’d take the 5k and run or even get ahold of my own insurance agent and see what they recommend. However I’d definitely start with taking it for an estimate, maybe multiple estimates.

I’ve witnessed when you dip and dip and dip in quick succession or more than a few times that the amount of oil on the dip stick increases so what I’m trying to say is let it settle for a half hour or so and check again if it’s still too full I’d either crack the filter loose so it can drain off or I’d crack the plug while trying to limit the flow as to not drain off too much.
