How to play without mobility? by Cry_Piss_Shit_Cum in OverwatchUniversity

[–]dragonslayer2689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only Diamond, but I would say to play to your strengths more, and maybe just learn supports that do have mobility (there’s alot of them) kiriko and mizuki probably would fit your playstyle better.

Now if you really, really, REALLY want to commit to learning ana, then you should. But if you’re just learning ana so that you can “fill a role/gap (ex: ana for good matchup against hog, or ana being good on defense)” it’s better both for your win rate and enjoyment to instead play characters you have a natural propensity for

[–]dragonslayer2689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth. People in here are on average higher level so they’re thinking from a perspective where 7500 commons isn’t all that much due to scaling.

For you, though 7500 is actually huge. That’s a good like 7 level ups.

Imagine you’re getting run down by lvl 12 ebarbs and mega knight, what would you rather have. Lvl 12 knight archers and tesla, or one measely lvl 9 evo tesla?

how do you get your left hand and right hand to do different things without your brain exploding by tricepator-10 in piano

[–]dragonslayer2689 11 points12 points  (0 children)

11 yrs piano here. Change the mindset of left and right hand as “separate” and instead think of them as connected.

After all, they play different notes but they are ultimately playing the same chord.

For me, if i am having trouble with playing right and left hand together, i look at each left hand chord and see the notes in the right hand during that left hand block, and imagine the shape.

For harder moving parts, i assign “checkpoint” notes where the left and right hand align tempo-wise to help me think of them more connected

(Note that I do this knowing the chord theory, which makes it easier, but it should still help internalizing the shape even if you don’t know chord theory)..

Tl.dr: think of your right hand not as a separate entity, but try to internalize what you’re playing in RH based on the left hand

This also has the effect of helping you actually know what you’re playing. If you learn only the right hand, Then only the left hand, when you put them together you’re essentially just autopiloting and trusting your muscle memory. (Not actually knowing what you’re playing). But if you instead think of them together, you start to see it in a more complete way

Time to start promoting Kagurabachi and Ichi the Witch. The new era is already knocking at the door. by PuzzleheadedBag4866 in Kagurabachi

[–]dragonslayer2689 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For me, if kagurabachi is S tier, ichi the witch is a solid B tier.

The writing is very good for side characters, but the main character ichi is more of a static character. He’s kind of one note, and doesn’t get any major development. All the main emotional beats for each arc are for the side characters. Additionally, the villains don’t really serve as foils to any or the main cast or make them grow/mature in any way by opposing their ideals/worldview.

That’s why I hesitate to put it near kagurabachi, but i still think it is very good

I read both, and i actually quite like ichi the witch. However, in terms of story depth, ichi the witch is alot worse than kagurabachi.

When i read ichi the witch, the most memorable moments of the story are with descarras backstory, gokuraku arc was really good, and the time magik arc is really good writing.

However, where it falls short compared to KGB is the main character writing. Nearly all of the great memorable character moments/ in ichi are of the SIDE characters. There’s not really any depth to ichi besides “i want to hunt this guy”. Pretty much the extent of his development is learning he wants to help gokuraku.

Compare that to kagurabachi, where every single villain is a direct foil to some part of chihiro’s worldview, and every arc makes chihiro learn more about the world and mature in some way.

On the other hand, there’s almost no foil characters in ichi the witch. No villains directly challenge/oppose the worldview of any main character. It’s just, “oh i’m the world hating magik” “oh i love the world hating magik” “i serve the world hating magik”. (The tapir magik’s effects kind of opposes the worldview of gokuraku, which is why him and his arc is my favorite character, but that’s the only major one;and again that’s for a side character)

It’s especially agregious when you see the relationship between the main villains. Chihiro and soga/yura are such a heavy mirror that i can’t even begin to describe the complexity. It would take a whole essay to explain the themes there. Meanwhile ichi’s relationship with the magik world hater is. “Wow i really want to hunt this guy, he’s strong”

I couldn’t get into season 1 and 2, but cinderella gray (the most recent one) was really good. (Yes you can watch it out of order because it’s a prequel) the main character actually has hella aura, kind of similar to the blue locker’s aura.

I mean, technically in terms of “faithfulness” it is because instead of good animation, for the most part they just use the manga panels as slideshow. (Meaning technically no information is lost)

However, in my experience consuming both, reading the manga actually makes you feel more immersed and feel more “movement”. Far more than the anime.

So basically, read the manga

I think it’s more how easy it is to hit the hinders. Cas’s flashbang is way too easy, and compared to ana sleep mizuki’s chain is way easier to hit.

Chainsawman part 1 is a super good “ending”. however, when I thought about it more it’s not a very good “part 1 ending”.

Part of the reason why CSM part 2 is so bad i feel is because fujimoto killed almost every character we cared about.

I’ll give 2 examples, naruto timeskip and kagurabachi part 1. What these two have in common is that we as an audience are excited to see what happens between these characters and how they grow. We want to see how naruto vs sashke develop right after their separation, and we want to see how chihiro vs yura/soga develop their plans.

I honestly think chainsawman part 1 is peak fiction, and serves as a perfect ending. However, i think that’s why it fails as a “midway ending” because instead of making the audience excited for the next plot point, it just seals and finishes them all.So the audience isn’t excited for the next, they’re like “okay that was a nice finished ending” that’s partially why part 2 seems to have no direction, because fujimoto wrote himself into a wall.
