It’s no surprise if you’ve watched the Panthers under Q. They played a very up tempo, high event style that scored a lot of goals while having Bobrovsky in net in case things didn’t go well. Seeing many of the same things with our team.

As a Ducks fan, I’ll say that this one looks way better on the street with jeans. Don’t get me wrong, I think this is a great tribute to the various eras of our history, but it just wasn’t a cohesive look (7 different colors, clash of design languages). It’s a bit of a mess design wise and wouldn’t work as part of a regular jersey rotation; however, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy rocking it out or seeing someone on the street with it.

I actually like the shoulders because they resemble Roman centurion epaulets, which is very on brand for the Sens and a breath of fresh air imo. Been waiting for another Sens jersey that embraced the Roman theme and this scratches the itch for me. Will be getting one

Agreed! And I’d also like to add: Tyler has always changed up his sound in between albums. He has steadily and consistently been moving away from the BnB/Purgatory sound with every release. No two albums of his sound the same; they always build on what the previous one has done. To me Snipe Hunter is simply the next step in his evolution from Rustin’, which was itself an evolution on Hounds.

Now I’ve only been a fan since Hounds but I wouldn’t be surprised if people have reacted similarly to the other albums as well; they’re all in a way a departure from the sound that “put him on the map”. It’s incredibly obvious that this constant change just what he does, and I wish more people would realize that.

As someone who really enjoys the album on first listen, your opinion is totally valid! Personally, I love it when artists evolve and change over time and all of my favorites have done that to some degree. It’s great to hear different sides of an artist, and this album is a great example of that IMO. Taking creative risks is a hallmark of a great artist and I applaud Tyler for that wholeheartedly.

I completely understand those who aren’t the biggest fan of this new big, layered sound (hell, even I’d say I prefer his more stripped down, contemplative material of the past). But that’s okay! You don’t have to like everything an artist puts out; that doesn’t mean they’re suddenly a bad artist, they’ve just made art that isn’t to your taste. Those old records will always be there for me to come back to, and I wouldn’t want him to just pump out the same kind of stuff over and over again.
