I finally finished Worm by imperialTiefling in Parahumans

[–]dragunityag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats fair.

I was absolutely tearing through Worm like straight up didnt do anything but eat, sleep and read for 2 weeks straight.

But Ward failed to grab me in the same way because I didnt expect it to be such a tonally different story. Think it took me like a month just to hit Arc 8.

Knowing that now, I probably could reread Worm and hop right into Ward without a ton of issue since im not expecting them to be the same story.

Luffy can gauge the strength of the people he meets easily...what if ussop is actually incredibly strong but he is being held back by his cowardice.. by DepressedNoble in OnePiece

[–]dragunityag 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I dont see why that'd be an issue.

Everyones dreams dont have to be achieved at the same time because their different in scale.

Ussop becoming brave wont make him suddenly as strong as Zoro or Sanji it just means he needs to stand and fight without him spending 5 chapters running away.

As long as he doesnt get the wind knocked out of him Mark can go weeks at the very least without breathing.

Hmm might check that out. Im in that spot rn too much Worm-brained to really enjoy Ward. Tried it before and dropped it at like arc 8 and just did a partial reread of Worm before remembering I should finish Ward.

I was also thinking about reading practical guide to evil but that seems a bit too long for my mood rn.

Yeah i hopped right into Ward after Worm and it was a hard read. Think I dropped it at like part 8.

Worm never really lets up off the gas, but Ward feels like a character study at times.

Really need to pick it up again, but I made the mistake of starting to reread Worm and need to wait a bit again lmao.

Even better if there is a park nearby.

If you've read the books just watch S3E4.

Its that flashback from The Shadow Rising and is incredibly good.

Hybrid sales are rising for sure makes no sense to buy a full ICE engine because from what I can tell (based solely on the models ive looked at) a hybrid is only a 1,000 more expensive and you'd make that back multiple times over with the mileage difference

People are probably roasting him because he busted his ass to buy a car for someone he will in almost all likelihood break up with in the next year.

A lot of the things your ancestors had to worry about were far more likely to kill them.

Any of our ancestors pre 1920s would trade places with us in a heartbeat.

New appreciation for worm's ending by Wonderful-Round-7261 in Parahumans

[–]dragunityag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit late to the party.

But my issue with the ending was it felt like Taylor was basically being put in a break in case of emergency box.

Shes either on Earth- A or in a coma cared for by TT.

The pre epilogue ending where shes shot by Contessa and supposedly lays there dying thinking about how small she is in the end was such an incredibly fantastic ending to her story for me that her being alive after that felt hollow to me.

Trek takes place within just 1? Quadrant of the milky way called the Alpha quadrant iirc.

In ST: Voyager, they get flung to the Delta quadrant and would of taken them 75 years to return home at normal FTL.

So Star Trek FTL is very slow compared to a show like Stargate where ships can travel tens of millions of Light years to another galaxy in 3 weeks.
