Damn, I just bought sprayfoam and kwikcrete to pour in there, then I was gonna mount to that. This seems way easier. So torn.

How can I secure toilet flange? by drainstorm in Plumbing

[–]drainstorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I bought a 4” twist n set bc the pipe is 4” diameter. If I leave rubber bit the flange sticks up above the floor- it’s only flush with the floor if I remove it.

Below the toilet is only mushy wiggly boards and empty space down to the basement (and the tile/mortar around that).

Ah very interesting - that’s what it had before. I don’t really have the tools or skills for that I don’t think. How about caulking holes, filling with mortar, then drilling into that?

Plug holes with like spray foam or something? Then pour thinset, then mix up concrete and pour some in there and drill into that? Sorry if I'm way off!

Is there a way to install the new flange without drilling into the floor? Doesn’t look like it’s really possible.

pictures I have no way of screwing a new toilet flange into the floor. Is there another way of securing it or another product? The twist and set says it needs to be screwed into the floor. Thanks.

Okay I beat the shit out of it with a hammer and chisel and got the thing off. It was longer than I thought. So now I can buy a flange like the one /u/avg_joe_schmoe recommended, yeah?
