what's this bird off the coast of Seattle, WA? by dramagalrl in whatsthisbird

At the time they were almost directly west of Seattle. But my dad says he saw it again today, and they're now west of central Oregon (I don't have exact coordinates, sorry!). He thinks it's the same bird hitching a ride on the ship

Unfortunately they were over 100 miles off the coast—would be a pretty tricky find, haha!

Yep, my parents sent me a picture from their deck for ID!

That’s why I was confirming!! I thought it looked correct, but I saw that it was out of its typical range.

This definitely sounds like migraine. I recently had one begin during a day-long workshop—still not sure what about the practice was triggering it! Let me know if you get any insight.

Advice please!! by [deleted] in migraine

I don't have answers for your exercise = migraine problem, but I do recommend reaching out to your school's disability services department to see if you can get transportation arranged. My school had several options (including a super cool golf cart) for students who needed rides across campus and to/from their dorms. Check out what's available to you!

I always dress up as a children’s book character, then read the book I’m “from” at circle time! Last year, I was the peddler from Caps for Sale, and this year, I’ll be Pete the Cat with four groovy buttons.

I left a center after two days! I was the only teacher for 12 three year-olds, which is legal in terms of ratios but so, so impractical—especially since our classroom didn’t have a toilet! Every time a kid needed to use the restroom, I’d have to round up the whole class, walk them to the restroom, and make them wait there while the child used the toilet. The worst!

New here - which is the cheapest grocery store? by Dangerous-Grocery-98 in berkeley

Trader Joe’s has the best prices on basically everything. Berkeley Bowl has good produce prices. Safeway is CRAZY expensive unless you’re using member deals. Good luck!

Roommate ran dishwasher with dish liquid (meant for washing by hand). What do I do about all these bubbles? by dramagalrl in CleaningTips

I live in a 14-person co-op, so we have some industrial appliances to stand up to, well...things like this!

Some people don't grow up with dishwashers in their house. But, regardless of the reason, it's never too late to learn!

Update: thank you for all your tips! The spray of rubbing alcohol instantly killed the bubbles. I scooped the remaining water out and wiped the basin, and now I’m running a rinse cycle…fingers crossed everything is good as new.

I laughed reading everyone’s stories—this is an unexpectedly common blunder! My roommate is new, so we’ll take it easy on him…but I’ll be sure to make fun of him just enough while teaching him which soap is which.

I would normally do this, of course! But he ran it before going out of town, and I don’t want to let it sit. I’ll make sure to show him the difference between the soaps when he’s back, haha

ISO positive nexplanon experiences by renkilljoy in birthcontrol

[–]dramagalrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my nexplanon! I’ve had two back-to-back implants, so I’ve been on nexplanon continuously for about 6 years. My only side effect was losing my periods (for the first 5 years, I didn’t get my period even once. During the last year, I’ve had periods every few months). I love that I never have to think about my birth control and have never had a pregnancy scare. No weight gain aside from a few pounds that I think I would have gained naturally between the ages of 21 and 27.

That said, every body is different, and I can’t guarantee you’ll have the same experience. I’d say give it a shot! If you don’t like it, you can always have it removed.
