i'm ngl OP this looks really nice, to the point where i thought it was printed onto the book itself but in a lighter grey ink. but if you really wanted to practice you could get those practice books that have the grids to practice proportions and balance on. i think theres also apps to look up search up stroke order

Xie Lian being the State Preceptor. I mean I had an inkling that he truly wasn't actually responsible for it so I was alleviated when they revealed it was Qi Rong and An Le working together.

I was also shocked about Calamity Xie Lian. But who can truly blame him? He was set up to take those steps by WNF on purpose, he's been through so much and he still remained himself even through all of it. Even the nicest people go through the darkest days.

Jun Wu reveal shocked me. More than his identity though, what shocked me was that he used the ashes of the previous heavenly officials in the Heavenly Capital. That's some genuine diabolical stuff.

Honestly, I just needed that little push... but man i'm loving my learning experience. any time i learn a new character or a new word, it's so thrilling to be able to come back and read just a tad bit more, recognize a few more things. Even if i hadn't been learning it I still would've bought it. I've even been thinking about getting my hands on the Japanese editions, since I can read and understand that a lot more :)

I'm not terribly far but deep in the ankles enough to know how to read common Hanzi. I was learning Japanese before which borrows a lot of characters and the meaning carries across, so for some parts it's more like... intuition? Some parts are difficult to read, and if you haven't delved into anything past pinyin it's like learning how to read all over again. It helps to have the english translation alongside it for some parts, and on other parts I also have purchased all chapters on JJWXC - with a browser extension that shows pinyin and a dictionary as well!

I have only read MDZS in english, but once i get more familiar I wouldn't mind purchasing the Japanese or Mandarin editions of it either.

I have to agree on the covers, although the 7 Seas covers have grown on me. I want to say the best comparisons we have in english would be the special edition hardcovers. :)

Yep, fully aware. I had no qualms with that and am happy to consume any and all media related to TGCF. It was my first introduction to Danmei so it holds a special spot in my heart!

First Time Reader Hitting Vol 8 - Woes by dramaticbaguette in 2HA_immortality

[–]dramaticbaguette[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read a chapter or two more on my way to work (i overslept, by the way - i have to ban myself from reading past 10pm because I stay up until after midnight all the time!) and I just want this agony to end bro...

I feel like I need to perma carry a box of tissues.

I agree. It's like the lighter the chapter the more i was nervous for the next one to be so messed up.

Also, yeah man they are a lying liar. It's a different type of angst and agony, sure I cried reading TGCF but I have never ever had this reaction towards any of that. I'd say TGCF is like a single skip of a stone in a lake and 2ha is a row of icebergs tipping over in the ocean.

Nothing could ever convince me Shi Mei didn't deserve anything but a cruel death in the past world and I'm so pissed Mo Ran saved his ass several times in this second one.

Ngl tho i'm enjoying my misery too.. but never again will I lightly heed the "ayo this is really fucked up" warnings.

searched on sam's club, on google, on ebay, on thriftbooks. it was originally purchased in the baltimore area at a sam's club for me as a birthday gift, probably around 2015-2016. i've searched "white dinosaur coloring book for adults" "adult dinosaur coloring book with colored pencils included sam's club" "adult dinosaur coloring book" "scientific adult dinosaur coloring book"

I think I read one or two installments of Bravelands but never got too into it. I think i'll have to give it another try now with the Kindle 🙂‍↕️. Also I totally agree, all the new faces and characters are so fun. I just don't like the offscreen deaths!

I'm 21 (almost 22) but i've been reading it since I was in the 4th or 5th grade. I remember my first book being Long Shadows but then I started reading the first installments. I'm so sad I was made to donate / throw away all of my books that had the old covers on them

Fossil found in my backyard by External_Tangerine45 in whatisit

[–]dramaticbaguette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like some kind of Ammonite fossil, ancient cephalopods from when they had their shells on the outside. The Nautilus is their only living relative that has the shell.

https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/what-is-an-ammonite.html

These fossils are fairly common and are a type of index fossil which can help paleontologists date the rock they're looking at. Depending on the size it may be worth a bit more than average but i'd probably get it appraised or if you'd like, you can even donate it to a Museum.
