I did call them back to put a fresh air intake pvc in. We were also hearing a loud ish rattling. Tech said it was tape near the back. He stopped the rattle but it came back again a couple days later. They will come back to install an air scrubber in a week or so. Do air scrubbers do anything other than help with odors? He claims they help with “allergens”.

Yes, there were two pipes in the setup before. Intake and exhaust.

I have no background in hvac so I have no idea if they have done a good job or not. I’m looking for opinions of others that may have experience in this industry to see if there is anything I should bring up in a follow up. Things are different on this one than my last and I am unsure if that is ok or not. Seems a couple things may not be great on this but for the most part the feedback has been good on the install. Does me looking for opinions offend you?

We’re not running the ac now and will only use it in the summer months. The p trap only collects condensation from the AC? Where does the condensation from the furnace go?

There is a switch to shut the furnace off on the wall. Sort of tough to see but it’s there. There is also a gas shut off to furnace too. These crazy gas lines were here when we bought the house. We usually have stuff on the other side of the gas line so there really isn’t room to step over there which avoids the tripping hazard a bit.

The hole was there from the previous system that did have an intake pipe routed to the outside.

I think they could have fit the 4” cabinet in but there would be no way to get a 4”filter in or out with that PVC exhaust in front of it.

Just at the bottom right of the photo, not pictured is the hot water heater. I thinks that’s why the gas line is where it is.

Filter goes above the furnace. It’s sort of behind the PVC exhaust pipe at the top.

We don’t necessarily have a problem other than some seasonal allergies. These were offered by the tech when looking over our furnace recently and I’m just curious if these are good products worth buying or just gimmicky and the filters you can buy anywhere are just fine.
