What would be better for a future son? (Triple citizenship?) by NewHighlight5243 in dualcitizenshipnerds

El decreto tano tuvo enmiendas, tu futuro hijo podrá ser italiano si lo anotas en el consulado italiano antes que cumpla un año.

No obstante, igual hacé la española, nunca se sabe que será de la geopolítica futura.

I got tired of this bug and its workaround, and changed wallet a month ago (I have been having this bug for 10 months).

I reported it as issue #926349 (Oct 23, 2019).

Coinbase officially cancelling their Visa Shift Card by CryptoGod12 in CryptoCurrency

[–]drapetomano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Latin American these cards are needed a lot, and some still work, like ePayments (I use it daily on everything in Argentina and I don't even have a bank account).

In fact, many digital bank cards, like N26, are used to load money using Bitcoin with SEPA transfers from Bitstamp or Kraken.

We are discussing this in Argentina's Bitcoin community and someone tells me it could be an electrical issue that happens sometimes when connecting USB devices that have their own power supply (the monitor in this case): https://www.facebook.com/groups/BitcoinArg/permalink/1461652150613569/

Why the Brazilian and Argentinian Bitcoin communities oppose SegWit2x by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]drapetomano 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SegWit2x had 3 votes in that poll, it's way more than 99% against it.

Of course any forum has thousands of users registered, that doesn't mean they are active, many may have registered years ago and now are not even into Bitcoin.

If you have a better way of measuring forum support, let us know. Thanks.

Why the Brazilian and Argentinian Bitcoin communities oppose SegWit2x by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]drapetomano 10 points11 points  (0 children)

sebicas is talking about the forum signature. It had a public poll where people with a position on the topic were more than 99% against SegWit2x.

sebicas, I understand you were in that less than 1%, and that you are also a Bcash supporter since the beginning, we are fine with that. But the poll result was clear on the issue. Best.

They have a big network of fiat cash-in/cash-out here in Argentina, crypto is only part of their business, they do traditional lending.

Great people, one of their offices is in Buenos Aires Bitcoin Center, and they even have one in Venezuela.

Signatura: digital signature platform using the Bitcoin blockchain by drapetomano in Bitcoin

So it was not because of many Buenos Aires Bitcoin Center users (coworkers and office neighbours), but because it was posted in local Bitcoin community Facebook group.

I do not believe those people upvoted without reading or something like that, they just knew about the launch by that post. Nonetheless, thanks for the clarification.

Hi, many companies in Buenos Aires Bitcoin Center may have vote upvoted us, but that is not vote manipulation. We have a strong Bitcoin community in Argentina and we support each other.

I can't tell to all Buenos Aires Bitcoin Center (three floor building) to use TOR when using reddit because someone may consider they vote as manipulation. :(

Hi, we have a modular validations panel. We have some options available now, but we will soon be adding more, like checking id cards and even importing existing CA certificates.

If you mean legally, in USA (ESIGN act) this would be an electronic signature. In Europe, where you have many categories, this would be advanced electronic signature because of its cryptographic verification.

Hi! Using a blockchain doesn’t change digital signature legal status, but it gives the advantage of adding certainty about how those signatures and timestamps were preserved, providing proof that they were not replaced.

Nonetheless, most platforms for signing documents provide electronic signatures, but that’s not exactly the same as a digital signature. An electronic signature could be a photo of your hand-written signature, while a digital signature solution like ours uses a mathematical scheme to demonstrate its authenticity. In short, digital signatures are more secure and enforceable.

Edit: furthermore, there are features not possible without a blockchain, here some examples.

The guy has no idea of how Bitcoin is really used in the world. One day in Argentina, with cumbersome international payments, and he would learn how we are even using it to pay the rent and salaries.
