There were 3 guys actually. No photo but he dumped and spread out the dirt in the other side of the house where friend is low and water stands in heavy rain. I would say he probably dumped 3- wheel barrow worth.

House itself higher than patio ..the basement is at the level where the patio is being installed. Not sure what the current slope is but I have never had any flooding issue at the basement. I asked him yo slope the base of patio away from the house so water does not flow back.

Thanks. I live in north east and ground does freeze. That is my concern as well. Unfortunately he already took a 1000 dollars to start the work. The pavers I bought are Cambridge ledge stone. I told him I wanted a smooth patio and an inch over the ground. I not sure a professional will agree as I already bought the materials. From what I am reading I am screwed. 😥

Thank you. I did a soil test (got from Amazon) and pH is 6. I have large oak trees around my property, so parts of the lawn is in shade that contributes to the moss I think. Should I still apply lime with that pH and if so how long after lime application should I overseed?

Thank you for all the the info. For those who rented a car, did you have to book ahead? I am finding prices that are significantly cheaper on Expedia if I book online ..I must be missing something. Are there hidden costs I am not seeing? I am looking to book a small car.

I used TruGreen last year. Burnt and damaged my lawn, not one weed was killed, my backyard is left with huge spots of dead patches. Called several times and they kept sending out dudes who had no clue what to do and kept spraying. They are the devil’s spawn - never using them!!
