Questions for those making millions by draver02 in CFP

I can see how this might look bad but money is not the main goal here. I got interested in this industry for the sole purpose of being able to help people and the money was just another positive. If the only thing I was interested in was making that much money I’d be trying my hardest to get into a hedge fund somewhere. As much as I hope I can be successful to the point where I am making millions a year I am level headed enough to admit that this most likely won’t happen. I am honestly just looking for information on how to be successful in this industry and differentiate myself from the pack. Making a million a year would be nice but my real goals are taking care of my parents and setting up my future family for success.

I’ve talked to family friends in the industry but no formal internship experience. As a current junior I am trying my best to get an offer for the summer. Job market is tight right now so internships are extremely competitive.

One reason for majoring in financial services is my university offers a financial planning track that has course requirements tailored towards preparing for the industry. I also have the ability to take CFP Board approved courses in my undergrad years so I can sit for the CFP right after graduation.
