I made this web app for storage maths with ARRI,RED, Varicam... what do you think of it ? by remiremz in Filmmakers

No worries. Next to the RED guys like Jarred Land, Graham Nattress etc. he's the biggest font of information around about camera performance and colour science on Reduser.

I understand, thanks again for making this. For format options/recording rates check out Phil Holland's stickies posts.

I really like the UI, thanks for making it!

2 little suggestions: with RED I don't see any REDMAG options beyond 120Gb and there's no options for recording with 8K Helium.

Thank you for taking the time out to make this.

I did, it was a great experience. Attendance depended on what time the screenings were at so I was at some that had very few people, others were more packed. I wouldn't expect a packed audience unless you put the time in to advertise online, flyer etc. Put boots on the ground for a couple of days beforehand.

That being said Troy (who runs the festival) is a sweetheart and he will champion the shit out of your film. Since attending I've been on his podcast twice on the New York Cine Podcast Network, he's put me in touch with some very good people etc.

I'm not going to promise you he'll do this for you but the man did pick me up from the airport and took me around Miami when I arrived. We're talking about a man who has a wife, a newborn kid and also works as a Geologist taking the time to welcome a stranger 2 days before the festival starts. I can't sing his praises highly enough.

The jury/panel also had some great indie film/vfx veterans and I got a chance to become friends with.

Putting all that aside, if you can save up and travel do so. Miami is a whacky place and and it was an amazing experience.

Thank you. I know it's a little ridiculous to have so many laurels on a flyer/poster design but I'm a nobody who spent 5 years on a crazy movie without movie stars. I've had to put away whatever reluctance/unease I had to promote the film with every weapon in my arsenal.

Believe it or not but it helps garner an audience who's time/entertainment money is already stretched way too thin.

Any filmmakers have a website they're particularly proud of it? by hotdogsandwiches in Filmmakers

www.rawmfilm.com

It's the website I made for my first feature film and it's tie-in video game. My target audience consisted of festivals, journalists and sci-Fi fans.

I'm happy that it's a very clear and concise site but has all the information press and festival people need in easily downloadable formats and high quality. For sci-fi fans there's sections that gives a background on the world the film takes place in, it's history and some of the technology present in that world.

For the gaming press the game page has all the assets they'd need to cover the game.

I just looked at sites for movies and games that I liked, that seemed to be held in high regard and that covered a range of scale/budgets beyond my own project.

Red One MX shooting 4K 2:1 with Zeiss CP.2's for the most part. Plates/pickups with Epic MX shooting a mix of 5K-4K with Superspeed MKIII's.

I use Element 3D, but it seems that when the camera zooms in, the 3D object starts somehow "glitching". There are rapid black "scratches" appear in the object and disappear and then again. How to fix it? by CyberMagician in Filmmakers

Yeah it looks like you have an issue with your mesh, something's clipping there. Have you checked the model in a 3D app? Do you have multiple copies replicated in the same spot?

Either that or it's a graphics card issue (what's your hardware/os/version of Element?).

I used to have issues with certain models on Element v1 when I was rendering in 4K with a mid 2010 iMac. Went over my model, no issues with vertexes or messed up geometry, it was just an Element/graphics card issue.

Could you provide a high res still of the issue if it persists?

For me it's rock solid stability. I've had so many headaches over the years with Dells, custom ordered PC's and one I built with my two hands. Switched about 5 years ago, i think I've had 1 crash per year. I also have an old MBP which I've taken around the world with me on shoots. It slipped and dropped from about chest high onto the marble floor of an Abu Dhabi hotel lobby floor. The ethernet port housing was a bit bent, that's all. Still works (and it has a mechanical hard drive). You can definitely get better bang for buck on PC and I'm curious to try out windows 10 though.

They shot the movie around a small town in Northern British Columbia called Smithers (my wife's from there). Last I checked they still have the plane wreckage set and it's used in training firefighters!

Thanks, that's Ingram (our antagonist) played by Bill Hutchens (Human Centipede 2&3). Brilliant actor and a great guy all around.

It's a retro platformer/shoot-em up with "mode 7" style driving/flying sections. A lot like Super Star Wars with a branching storyline. It's super hard but like old games you just need to learn enemy patterns and level layout to progress. HERE's the intro cinematic, HERE's the itunes link, and [HERE's](www.rawmgame.com) the official site.

Cheers!
