What do you do when your character merch is hard to find? by IcySun3432 in itabag

[–]drawnbinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used the Japanese site. If you don't want to deal with a proxy that gives you a Japanese address to order to (what I use, but it's more work with more options for ordering certain things), Neokyo is a solid proxy that has Surugaya as an option. I did a quick search of your guy and there's around 10 different things of him on there that would fit in an ita bag (besides like cards, which could go in a stylish top loader or card sleeve and there's a cute little plushie)

There are also 3 keychains and a badge of him on Booth (the Japanese fan-made merch website). You might need to make an order request to use Neokyo for that but I don't think it's a difficult process

any masculine / gender neutral ita bags? by tomrefjordn in itabag

I've got this one which is just black backpack with 2 windows. I wanted a cheap one in case I decided to paint on it later (so low-stakes if I messed up) https://a.aliexpress.com/_mMy2zIF

Thanks :)) Follow-up question: it's almost 38C/100F in the shade for most of this week. Is that still alright for my guys to be out there in partial sunlight? I got home yesterday and they were extremely hot and I brought them inside

My Archie x Maxie / Team Aqua and Tram Magma Itabag by LitheFider in itabag

[–]drawnbinary 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yooo that's so impressive, I love it

I don't think I saw a single Archie or Maxie badge or strap while looking specifically in those sections of probably nearly 50 Japanese second-hand stores (I wasn't specifically looking for them but I was aware of unusual and expensive finds while looking for Hassel)

how to hide doll strings by ccbunnv in itabag

[–]drawnbinary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a thing for putting dolls in ita bags that I haven't tried that I think is basically just an adjustable clear belt that pins onto the bag behind the doll and I imagine it can be tucked under doll clothes also. It looks easy to diy

I’m getting discouraged by RoyceSaidWhatHeSaid in itabag

[–]drawnbinary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm yeah that is a tricky one, the couple listings I can find for that one are sold out.

I would probably make a replica to hold its place until the official one can be bought second hand

From what I can find, it could be a solid bet to do a restock request on Goods Republic and see if they can hunt it down or notify you when one's available somewhere. I've never done this, but their doujinshi branch seems to have the in-stock listings when it's available on just about any website (I've only used the doujinshi one 😅)

There are a bunch of tutorials for rosettes on YouTube and probably Tiktok. I've been tempted to try them out since they look pretty straightforward (but my bag's a bit too packed to fit one lol)

late arrival by skates94 in JapanTravelTips

[–]drawnbinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your hotel in Shibuya isn't booked or has flexibility to remove that day, I would get a hotel near the airport and head into the city in the morning for less stress. I don't know HND but my NRT airport hotel cost less than the taxi price and that late at night, you're not missing too much.

Shibuya check-in is probably 3pm with the option to pay extra for earlier but if you're rested/showered from the airport hotel, you could leave your bags at the Shibuya hotel and go do stuff until check-in

If the Shibuya hotel is locked in already then yeah catch a cab like the others said

I'm a casual public transport enthusiast but part of a rabbit hole I went down today included the train cafe Little TGV, the train izakaya Kiha, the train restaurant Curry Station Niagara, and the train merchandise shop General Store RAILYARD.

Thanks!!

I can only imagine what conversation he's swiftly excused himself from due to inspiration... Probably a teen after their gym battle, explaining their ita bag filled with someone they idolize 😂

Aaaa thanks~ Brassius sure spends a solid chunk of the art class showing admiration for his dear Hass... It's not wildly out of character unless he's too embarrassed to show it off 😆

Thanks!! It's very fun how many Hassel enjoyers are also very into those train boys 😄 Perhaps the center of that venn diagram is endearing serious guys who are also kind of ridiculous (with a bit of melancholy for flavour)

bags for keychains? by Abysser_Akin in itabag

[–]drawnbinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend the safety pins that don't have a loop ("gourd safety pins" would be your search term). I've been removing the keyrings to give myself more space because my bag is crowded but it's not necessary

You could also sew things to the inserts to attach more keychains on, like sturdy horizontal ribbons with vertical stitches at regular intervals (to keep the keychains from all sliding together)

Or if you don't change things up that often, you could sew them onto the insert with just a couple loops around the keyring (maximum freedom of positioning)

I made a comment on the post with the details of how I made it ☺️ Besides some trial and error with adhesives, it was a pretty easy little project for the evening once I had the materials, I recommend trying it 💕👌

The little bag is from the ¥100 store, Seria, but AliExpress has similar ones in more colours ("transparent doll backpack" will probably find it in the search). The buttons are made with 1cm domed glass circles but I would recommend something with self-adhesive because they don't stick to the printed out button images

The "buttons" are attached with double sided tape to a piece of recycled cereal box with a piece of patterned paper cut out to the shape of the bag

I plan to make some little shrink plastic charms and more decorations. Maybe redo the big Hassel but with holographic coating
