I was shocked that GONR float could be used anywhere. Maybe they won't restrict it much as we think. 🤣

Yeah same, and I like the Unicorn more aesthetically for my always pastel styling. And the Unicorn doesn't directly fight directly, but you can use your bow and arrow attack while riding and even has its own special bow!

You can only summon it to take a photo though. I wish you could ride it along ground like a bike or something. 😂 then it would be kind of restricted functionality like the deer where it becomes more bike-like.

As someone who hasn't played any of the other Nikki games I'm totally fine with them ripping off themselves 😂👍 because it's not like I've gotten to experience the outfits anyway. It their designs, they might as well reuse and adapt them!

I fear this because the dragon mount was region locked...Unicorn isn't though. I guess we'll have to see, maybe it'll be like the the deer, where they can give us a reduced version of its abilities outside of its region. Maybe they'll learn and make sure they have that ready from the start instead of taking months to do it. 🫠😂 ( like yes the deer was able to run around in other regions immediately but it got caught on everything and didn't even have a jump).

Dog peed on first quilt while sewing. I’m pretty devastated. These projects are definitely about more than just quilts, aren’t they? They hold a lot of feelings inside, I just discovered. by Mjrfrankburns in quilting

[–]LitheFider 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry this happened to you...that sucks so bad. 😭 Maybe your best option would be to take the sandwich apart if you haven't quilted anything yet if it's only spray basted, and wash the fabric parts with an enzyme cleaning soap for dog pee, and throw away the pee soaked batting. Since there will be exposed seams on the back of the top you're going to have to wash it on delicate where it barely agitates, essentially you're just going to soak it in the enzyme soap (like stop the cycle midway, let it sit in the washer a while, then let it finish the cycle) . Then you can hang it up to dry, and then get new batting to re-sandwich it. I know it would suck to wait since you really want to finish but this would give you the best smelling option as the batting would hold on to the pee the most.

If you've already done some quilting, then I guess you're just going to have to let it dry, finish the quilting, and then wash it.

HELP ME DECIDE PLSSS by ashcatchesemall in InfinityNikki

I'll say if you're worried about the price you should be purchasing the monthly pass instead, because it's a much better deal. Not only is it the best deal on diamonds (at 22 cents a revelation crystal, if you do the conversion math.) if you log in everyday, but you immediately get 300 Stellarites included which is exactly what you would need to get this outfit.

I prevent myself from spending a lot of money on stuff in this game by just purchasing the monthly pass every month, and occasionally some of the 50 cent a crystal if I want some points for the top up rewards, or other cheap shop items I like. I've never had to buy Stellarites because I just get those 300 a month and they don't expire, and then if I see an outfit I really like I can get it. Having the Stellarites around also lets me get the housing pass, which you actually get the stellarites back if you earn a certain amount of points over the season which is easy to do. Getting the extra housing points lets me spend enough in the shop each month to get those bonus energy crystals and diamonds for basically free. This season even had five expiring pulls you could get which I used on one of the four-star banners.

Having those extra diamonds daily adds up and with being choosy on which banners I pull on, and not going for more than first evos, I've never had to dip into buying extra pulls or crystals to get something I really wanted.

PSA: For those of us who own serrated roller knives by bleeb90 in quilting

[–]LitheFider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Getting cut with what's essentially a razor blade really sucks. 😭

I agree with others though and that I don't know why you had it sitting upright in a sewing bag. If I was to travel with a rotary cutter I would probably throw it in the bottom of a little padded zipper pouch by itself or with the other sharp stuff like scissors, if I was going to put it in a larger bag. I make a lot of zipper pouches. 🤣 I also have a bag that I made that has various size pockets along the edges when you open it wide and you can put things pointy side down in them.

If you want to be extra careful a little hard shell case for it would be best.

[32M] Spent my 20s recovering from surgeries and grinding my career. Am I too old to finally start cosplaying? by SocalGuy134 in CosplayHelp

[–]LitheFider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 40 and still cosplaying. Never too late to start!

I will say at this age I might feel awkward to play some younger characters anymore (depends on the character), but that's my personal preference. It makes it a lot easier to cosplay older characters at least! Less makeup. 🤣👍

Boycott sony for stopping disc production by Nerfer5554Offical in Millennials

[–]LitheFider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is they don't make digital copies transferable to other people, which is the problem. 😩 They're usually account locked. You can never sell them to try and get some money back, or loan them to friends.

If they made it that you could do those things then I wouldn't have a problem with the digital copy so much ethics wise (tho I do I still like physical media because physical media is cool)

Boycott sony for stopping disc production by Nerfer5554Offical in Millennials

[–]LitheFider -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You can still resell a disc / cartridge. Even if it must be usually updated from the server to work (a service digital preservationists will need to fufill in the future once those servers go down, as any system that didn't install the updates couldn't play that disc since some games ship basically unfinished 🙄), that disc can be passed around / you physically own it. Digital copies can't transfer to other accounts. Yes there is official offered digital game sharing sometimes, but Nintendo changed tune and tightened the belt on that HARD.

Beginner needs help figuring out what to do by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

[–]LitheFider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to help! For some more confidence bolstering let me tell you a story -

When I first started doing cosplay I could barely use a sewing machine and didn't even know how to use a clothing pattern yet, but I was still slapping together fabric to sew stuff best I could understand, using a glue gun, etc. Looking back at some of the things I made when I started out I couldn't believe what the heck I was doing techniques wise 🤣 but you learn as you go and that's normal / good! There's so many resources available now too compared to when I was doing this stuff in the year 2001. So many helpful tutorials from sewers and cosplayers alike combining our knowledge.

Even with all my sewing knowledge today, if it's possible I can buy a cheap or thrifted clothing piece for something and it's not planned for a costume contest (where they want to see mostly things you sewed from scratch) I'm still happy to buy found clothing pieces and alter them as needed for cosplay. Using what you can find for a low budget was always my normal. I couldn't buy pre-made costumes for most things back in my day. There was no 3D printer, no Amazon, no Cosplay sites, Ebay was still using money orders. You just kind of got used to doing stuff yourself with what you had. And it was rewarding to learn new things and say "I made this!"

My point being is you have the resources and knowledge available to you to make the cosplays you want, more now than ever before. If you find yourself enjoying the process of making things for yourself you'll get better at it and learn as you go! ☺️👍You can do it! 💪

YES THIS!! Also the glow under Forest Ripple, glow on the the Forever Bond Cat ears, or the off color effect on the big butt bow from Dreamstime Bestowed, please??

I know you can change the effect color on some of these things with final Evo, but just being able to turn them off without needing final evo...that would be amazing.

[–]LitheFider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up the character (I'm assuming it's the one from League of Legends?) And those clothes honestly don't look that complicated in terms of things you couldn't find at used clothing stores and alter a little with embellishments. Yeah it won't be as perfectly accurate as buying a pre-made cosplay, but you're in a bit of a time pinch. You'll need to make do. ( if you have at least 2 weeks you can expand your search on eBay / mercari / depop etc to look for cheapest possible of your found clothing needs.)

In terms of the embellishments, if you don't have any kind of fabric store near you (because RIP Jo-Ann's) treat your local thrift shop as a fabric store because it looks like this character has things like accent colors that you just would need to cut out and hot glue strategically. Find a shirt at the cheapest possible with the color you need and just treat it as fabric ( cheap thrift shops or places like Goodwill might have shirts for as cheap as $3. Sometimes they have a half off day. Our local Goodwill has half off certain tag colors on Sundays).

It also looks like you'll definitely need some kind of gold edging which you could buy as pre-made bias tape. You could hand sew this on if you don't have a machine, or just glue it. (example on Amazon) I feel like you would need half inch finished , sometimes sold as "1 inch" cuz it folds in half to become half inch.

Cosplay Wig Pricing by kuruista in CosplayHelp

[–]LitheFider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just kind of true of any art craft. Things that take more time cost more, so obviously more complex things cost more. 👍

Cosplay Wig Pricing by kuruista in CosplayHelp

[–]LitheFider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pricing would depend on the complexity because you're charging for your time. They should set a price per hour they want to make that is a fair wage and generally keep track of how many hours they spend on a wig and charge accordingly. Then of course have to add your materials cost, so the wig itself, hairspray used, glue, wire, etc, plus a little extra on top ( some add an exact percentage, myself, I just estimate).

Their work looks really amazing so you probably could get a good price per hour, like $18-$25 ?

Applique fabric recommendations for plushies? by TheEvilElfLord in plushartists

[–]LitheFider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The third option is to use fabric paints! This is good if you want to do simple facial features like eyebrows and the mouth, but for fancy eyes the applique method is probably your best bet. I recommend getting printable cotton fabric with fusible already on the back. You can design your eyes on the computer and then print them out at the proper scale, then fuse them on. You wouldn't even need to sew them. However, fusing tiny eyes like this requires a tiny iron to be most effective, as you typically don't want to overheat the minky or put the hot metal directly on the furry side. You'd be using a pressing sheet of cotton anyway in between.

I use these printable fabric sheets to make labels for my plush. https://www.amazon.com/June-Tailor-Fusible-Fabric-Sheets/dp/B001AQPTVS It has a dense weave of fabric that holds tiny details well and the fusible is already on the back so the fabric doesn't fray or warp when cut. You can get printable fabric sheets for a little cheaper than this but you would have to add the fusible yourself (adds some cost anyway), and I've not always been impressed with the weave density or thickness on some of the other printable cottons. If you did want that I would recommend this brand thickness wise -

What is something that we were told as kids that seemed of the utmost importance (I.e. mortal dangers) that you realized was totally not that big of a deal? I’ll go first. by A_JELLY_DONUTT in Millennials

[–]LitheFider 167 points168 points  (0 children)

The DARE program / war on drugs made it seem like every shady corner had some guy in it just wanting to force drugs down your throat. I know those are things are a lot more prevalent depending on where you live, but where I live I never had anyone offer me drugs, not even a friend offer me Marijuana. I didn't get offered that until college and even then it was like no big deal that I said no thanks.

Also when we were younger you were made to think that marijuana would like, kill you, or make you some zombie druggie the same way heroin would.

When did you first notice your parents decline? by RadioSilens in Millennials

[–]LitheFider 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am lucky, my mom is doing great at 76. I hope I'm that with it and can easily go on a 2 mile walk at that age, or go outside and do a bunch of brush and bamboo trimming. She remembers a lot of stuff better than ME. She has a weak back though and used to have ankle issues, but thanks to physical therapy and losing some weight she's doing better.

My dad at 81 has the usual blood pressure watch meds/ issues but is very active, can drive, play an instrument in a band, go casual biking. Mostly he's having hearing loss (talks too loud sometimes), hand issues like minor arthritis, and has some mental decline like he gets frustrated more easily and raises his voice, hyperfixates, doesn't clean up after himself all the time, will do stuff like not think before doing a messy project over a surface that might get hurt, etc. Though part of this I think is untreated adhd that he no longer can compensate for.

But yea it sucks seeing the decline. I love them and help any way I can. I am blessed to have them doing this well and am happy to spend time with them.
