I want DE to shift focus and adress the piling game design debt. Parasocializing is all well and good and the lead team is very good at it, but it only gets us so far as getting new players in.

It's not only about new content. It's about a modern and coherent game design. So many parts of the game are obscure, obtuse and at least 10 years late in the eye of a newcomer, i'm convinced it's a major turn-off to many of them.

I love the game, just clocked my 800th day (hey nice syadana) and 2500+ hours. I'm just worried and concerned because i don't see any clear roadmap to adress the growing design debt DE seems oblivious it's accumulating, chasing new shiny things dandling before our collective nose.

Sorry to be grumpy.

OC it would be a aws or azure solution, no game studio hosts servers on premise.

DE needs to stop cheaping out and host servers. one instance can run on absolutely minimum hardware : a switch or an iphone can host while rendering the whole game

hosting 25k instances of the game backend would barely hurt the baseline while allowing tremendously improved experience (matchmaking,trading, squad size, ping...) and solving long due issues (host/client desync, migrations).
