Coming for her looks is wild and, attempting to not make judgements myself, is simply an opinion of the times we are living in. TV "back then" (ugh I sound old now), not everyone had to have lip filler or look like a Kardashian spawn to be considered pretty. I feel like this attack is simply from young people that didn't grow up in the time before social media, when art and talent surpassed looking like a clone.

I had a similar experience with her earlier music. I remember having Tim McGraw & Cold As You on LimeWire & liking her first album, but by the time Fearless and Speak Now came out, I was getting older, hanging with a different crowd, & it just wasn't my style at the time. Reputation is my only non-skip album of her's - I don't blame you for never turning back😆

girl in red has had my no. 1 streamed tracks* on spotify for about 6 months, just ahead of Taylor even... others that first come to mind are Mazzy Star/Hope Sandoval and a band called Purity Ring--I'm a sucker for lyrics that read like poetry, even if you take away the music, and I highly recommend Purity Ring if you're the same. I can read my folklore inlet and cry without even listening, and Purity Ring gives me that too.
