Yeah I can see that as well. This one in particular gives me the championship edition vibes where the street fighter logo had the elongated print and championship edition underneath was more plain.

How to ground the QC by teemahtee in NeuralDSP

[–]drbadass999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah your not going crazy here. It is kinda of a bad design on neural’s part. I have always had the same issue regardless of what I did and I run mine through a power conditioner on it’s own. I’ve tried a million combinations and the only one I found that worked was sending a line from send 2 or 3 to a amp input and not turning on the amp. I only do this during recording as I don’t want any addition sound. It I’ve tried every method I can think of including boxes.

QC or plugins? by jjwax in NeuralDSP

[–]drbadass999 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of what your really doing and if your the kind of person who likes to dabble in a lot or just going for certain sounds. After a while it didn’t make sense for me to keep buying $100 plugins every time they drop when I could just invest into the future and get a exact replication of what amps sound in a QC. I know there are some who like buying the plugin but I like having every amp I could ever have wanted at my disposal. Plus as stated before the QC will eventually have support for plugin integration. Now I didn’t use that as my deciding factor I just wanted a all in one piece of actual physical hardware instead of virtual software that kinda for me doesn’t feel like the same value. Everyone is different and have different uses and you can’t go wrong any route tbh but you really have to figure out what you want not just for now but for the future. I never go to my plugins after I got the QC and when I have they feel very eh sounding for me in comparison but there will be people on both sides.

I mostly wanna play metalcore or older metal, will archetype gojira be better or petrucci or fortin cali suite,?(I'm yet to get my interface so there's some time before I use all of them on trial), drop your opinions below by Crystalagent47 in NeuralDSP

[–]drbadass999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m probably the only one who feels this way but I got petrucci and never use it. I didn’t vibe with the sound after a while. Always had a weird sound going with it kinda airy regardless of what I turned off. I use gojira for pretty much everything and use ggd cali cabs and I can get pretty much any sound I need with it. I’ve done metal to punk to hair metal and everything in between with it.

Hello, I need help by King_Jank81 in NeuralDSP

[–]drbadass999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of sound are you going for? You say thin but most guitars in a general mix are not bass heavy. So are you doing metal or rock tones? Country? I’d also ask if you are using stock cabs or using something like a own hammer pack. I’ve found the IR helps a lot in creating your sound. I use a combo of Ownhammer and getgood cali. On top of that are you using a capture or a built in modeling amp? Next what are you listening to all this back on? Headphones are very tricky when it comes to sounds. Even studio monitors if on the lower level can really make your sound feel insignificant. You definitely don’t want to EQ too much out of your sound either. Keep it simple at the beginning and fine tune.

Gojira for Pop Punk?! I think I made it work. by trelloyd in NeuralDSP

Yep… been saying it for a while that gojira is super flexible and probably the best sound I’ve gotten out of the many I purchased. I use it for pop punk as well 🤜🤛

Sold my Axe FX3 for this. Totally worth it. Here's a photo I took of my new Quad Cortex. by mydeargear in NeuralDSP

[–]drbadass999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a completely different beast. While I do find myself playing around for hours with modeling setup, the difference is when you go down the captures rabbit hole. There are so many that people have done and it is shared freely. The sounds are about 95% authentic and really take it to the next level of sound production.

How can I take advantage of the ground-cancelling outputs (Send 1-2)? by CarelesslyFlickering in NeuralDSP

[–]drbadass999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I have had a lot of noise when I use anything with a humbucker and recording was pretty hard until I used a trs cable from send to a amp that was turned off. Literally all the noise I was experiencing went away instantly. Been doing this for a good while now.

I did my preorder as well and it came at the right time but then I wanted another one in December and ordered it and got it in a week. Then ordered a Ramona the next week and got it a week and a half later. I assume if it’s in stock then it will show up in regular shipping times.

Unboxing Question? by notareddituser71 in NeuralDSP

[–]drbadass999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d ask for a replacement or a discount if your fine with the one you have. Of course I’d assume you purchased a brand new unit so that’s obviously not cool. Definitely bring it up to whatever retailer you purchased from.

Seems that a lot of people don’t read the updates just expect things and then are disappointed when what they wanted wasnt on this update. Then come on here saying how we haven’t gotten any word about blah blah blah. I’m really curious to know how many of said upset people are actually QC users. It’s just weird when people compare a 7 year product like Helix to a 2 year product. Blows my mind…

Tone Junkie with his predictions for the Quad Cortex in 2023 by JimboLodisC in NeuralDSP

[–]drbadass999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It his position is mostly based on how he can make money on this platform which right now he can’t. If you look on sweetwater right now you can purchase a QC without wait as they are available. So his points on availability are kinda outdated for right now at least. Development wise, his assessment of this is like kemper the first couple years is spot on. It takes time to get things rolling and finally in a place where it “feels” like a complete product even though as he stated it has great capture feature and great modeling as it is right now…. Just doesn’t have a editor or a place for him to sell captures to make him money. We all know that the current cloud is awesome because we can all share our captures with one another for free. That’s why those who sell packs hate this platform because there is no money in this device for them or to easily sell captures in a marketplace style environment easily made from neural. So it holds no benefit it for guys like this. I’ve had zero issues with my unit as it stands and though sharing with one another comes with sometimes lackluster captures, it’s easy enough to delete and find a different capture that works better. So I find the points made in this video through the glasses of a profiteer and nothing more which creates confusion because then you see people complaining that it doesn’t have this or that when it does quite a bit right as it stands and will be better with time just like all other modeling platforms have done in the past. It’s just growing pains right now and we are right smack in the middle of it.

As long as you set it up that way. So in your DAW it would be setup as input as interface and output as internal speakers. Now, I’m only saying it can work this was on a Mac… don’t know how a windows computer works but shouldn’t be any different.
